Bus Pass Holiday

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

A retired couple used their free bus passes to travel 500 miles across the country on holiday this summer. They took the train home. They have said it was their best holiday ever.

What would you do with yours.

"id use mine to visit fab members"

They'd have to be worth the journey then.

There is that but I couldn't work out how they managed with all of their luggage. That bit would drive me nuts. I like a bus journey but I also want a change of clothes and 6.

Glasgow

"I'd get on buses just to see where they go."

I do that around Glasgow. Some drivers think its fun. Others make you get off at the terminus and wait for the next bus back

You never hop on and off to see different things?

Only if it looks as if the bus is going south of the river

Seriously, I'll get off if I see something interesting but usually get back on a later one and head for the terminus.

Some are OK. Get a 747 to the airport and there's cafes etc. Take the old 9 to Johnstone (I think) and the terminus is in the middle of nowhere.

Well there's room on most buses for a suitcase in the luggage bit at the front so no biggie. I've been to London and Essex and back many a time with luggage on a combo of buses trains and tube.

I was always under the impression that the bus passes people get around here are limited to use in West Yorkshire, I will have to check the website. I know they have limitations like they can't be used before 9.30am

The Freedom Pass that over 60s get used to be limited to your area. A couple of years ago it was expanded to cover the whole country. Not all local authorities and bus companies have to honour them but most do and you have to follow the local limitations (like Twirlies).
