OK folks, fairly newbie here. Single guy....
Can I start a thread (or debate :P ) on friend requests.
Very grey area, which Im sure there are several thoughts on. My grievances: I message someone and chat to them through messages or chat room. Why is it that when you ask can you add them as a friend, the reply is: "I only add people I know or real friends" I mean come on, your not likely to meet your childhood friends here. Im here to make friends, can't see how that is possible with such a negative attitude.
I do agree however, that it is totally ignorant to add someone the first time you visit their profile. Some respect and courtesy... chat, ask and accept their reply.
Would like to put this to those older and wiser to guide me
Love to all xx |

It's to the individual who they add or consider friends here, I don't think there are many looking for a childhood friend, but consider real friends through here to be those they have met, and not just chatted too.
There are a lot of picture hunters that want to become friends just so they can check out, maybe even copy pictures from peoples private gallery, so many have learnt to be a little more cautious and go about their own way in being so.

I can only speak for myself, I only add people I have already met or am truly liable to meet to my friends list.
I get friends requests every day from people living up to 450 miles away from me, I am not likely to ever meet them so won't add them. |

Everyone has a different take on what/who they class as friends. A lot of people are happy to add amyome who they are attracted too, some only add people they have been chatting to with with a view to meeting, others only want people they have actually met. Its all down to personal choice. |

I only accept Friends Invites from peeps I have interacted with, like exchange messages or meet in person etc...
Also, if I am unlikely to meet that person, I shan't accept their Friends Invites. |

I'd say only send a friend request once you have chatted a bit or met that's the best thing. Many couples and Females have pics they only want to share with guys that trust somewhat or have met. Use the Hotlist to remember who you may want to contact at some point. |

got it in one! The friends list is for people you want to share pictures with and with the nature of this site many like a little privacy. |

I only add people I've met to my friends list. I have a face and naked body shot I don't want all and sundry to see. I also don't add further verifications as in my view you really only need one person to say yes, met, real, does what she says.
My friends list is also hidden as it's my business who they are. |

I agree with this, and I do like it if a person asks me if it's ok, shows some respect.......... |

We only add/send friends invites to those we intend to meet and only after initial contact via messages on this site. We never accept invites from anyone who have not bothered to message us first. |

Thats the same with us,we have put that on our profile but still get a few friends invites a day,we dont see point in accepting someone as a friend if we are never going to meet. |

Thanks for so many replies
I think on reflection, I should have considered the point about private pics.
I really use this site, like a swingers social networking site, where, if I chat to someone, I ask them if it's ok to include them in my friends list. I use hot list, more as a hit list, of people I think look good, and will make contact with. Friends-people I have chatted to and got on. Im genuinely on here to make friends in non-sexual sense as well as sexual. Confusing myself now hehe

It is a good thread for us newer members so we know why invites get rejected. |
