Nope. Even when I'm at my best mates we never look at each others accounts or check our accounts in each others company. We don't even know the others passwords, and I wouldn't want to know it if he asked me. |

What possible reason would there be for giving someone else your password if not to log into their account?
Are we operating Harry Potter style 'Secret Keeping' now?

If be very torn but that's because I'm s nosey bugger and if he gave me his password willingly as if giving me permission I'd be very tempted.
However I'm a big believer that something's you don't need to know, which is where I'd tend to be.
So my short answer is, I don't know....but I'd certainly be tempted. |

"If someone you fancied and was going to meet on fab gave you his password would you check his account out without his knowledge and consent ?"
its the without his knowledge or consent bit that makes me say no. If someone left their diary at my house I woudl be tempted but I hope I would resist taking a look. |

Good lord - no! In fact I would insist they kept their password secret and not let me know it. |

"I don't understand why someone would give anyone else their password really. "
well exactly....if they're stoopid enough to do that then they'd have to deal with any mischievious consequences that may occur from idiotic actions |

Dilemma 1 ? Nope - not in a million years!
Therefore dilemma 2 is redundant!
Why would anyone be daft enough to give access to their profile to a total stranger? |

I have been in this situation as I used to manage my mum's finances when she was incapable. And no, of course I didn't. In fact, I did have one of her carers sacked for stealing from her. She hadn't noticed money was missing but since I had a close eye on things I spotted it. |

No way! I dont know why guys do this, checking each others phones and emails etc, It's not cool and just about always ends in tears, Always try to trust until it is clear that your trust has been broken, then walk away xxx |

"been asked by a male friend to do re do his profIile because he wasn't having an luck."
surely this makes his profile fake ?...The basis to a friendship / relationship for something as intimate as sex surely has to be built around an iota of trust ? |

hmmm ,,, depends if the information is about him .... Then no it doesnt ,some ppl just arent good at writing a profile.
Just like most biographies of famous ppl are done by someone else. |

No I wouldn't because I believe in discretion. It is not right to go into others' accounts and it is also unfair to have access to those that have messaged that person, maybe their private pics etc.
If anyone did give me their password here, and it's never happened or ever likely to), I would never meet them. I
wouldn't have any further contact with them because of the lack of discretion and respect afforded to others |

I agree about the trust issue however loads of people get help writing their profile. I don't understand why she needs access to his account though when he could copy and paste an emailed document that really is helpless if he can't do that. |

No I wouldn't go snooping. We was talking to a single fem last year and met up for a social when she told us that her fb actually read our messages and had replied to some of them without her seeing them first. We were so angry at the lack of discretion as he had seen our private face pics but didn't have a clue who he was. We did tell her that and left straight away. |

If you fancy them and want to meet them any would you break their trust like that??
I've been entrusted with a couple of people's passwords for various reasons bit I would never ever consider something so deceitful |

"Surely if they give you their password they would expect you to log on to it??? Otherwise why give you it?"
They would expect you to log on for the reason they gave it to you and nothing else.
I hope the person the OP is talking about is reading this and changes their password |

How many responses here have said what is politically correct rather than what they would actually do?
People are naturally nosy so I suspect a number would look. |
