Carte noir is instant but its a very good one snd has an amazing aroma.

Its prob the only instant coffee imo that can compare with beans

When I dont fresh grind my own beans, Lavazza Red coffee which I make as espresso and then into an Americano.

I have my own espresso machine because I'm a coffee snob - and not afraid to admit it! Instant coffee tastes like sweaty ass crack juice.

Instant - Nescafe Alta Rica

Ground - Taylors Sunday Morning or one of the stronger ones for after dinner.

Out and About - Costa Cinnamon Latte

But actually, I don't really care. Coffee is coffee and if it's offered I'll accept. There is no such thing as too much coffee.

Probably the fact that their coffee grind is 40% Robusta beans to make the caffeine content higher and the cost to produce lower!

Usually one or two makes on offer at any given time so make sure you shop around. Worth checking what pods they take too, as some are only available on-line or a limited number of stores, e.g. Nespresso.

I have a Dualit Caffitaly pod machine myself, and pods are only available at John Lewis as far as I am aware. Generally works out at 30-35p per cup so well worth it!

I have one of those that I brought home from Sicily and I love it. The apartment we stayed in had one in the kitchen and I didn't have a clue how to use it. I had to go ask the Italian gent next door for instructions, bearing in mind I know no Italian it involved a lot of waving the thing about, pointing and shrugging lol. Luckily I managed to understand his 'caffè' and 'acqua' pointingness directions.

Tesco's do a tin the same size and shape as Nescafe Azeria and the Milicano stuff - it's also quite nice, and on a par with the other two. If you want a real coffee hit without the fuss.

But there is no subsititue for a proper freshly ground coffee.

I like it Arabic style too - very finely ground, with cardamon pods ground and sugar - heat in a small pan and serve hot
