Do things happen for a reason? Do you find connections with strangers for reasons which are unapparent? Do you ever act out of character without knowing why?
Any experiences? |

A fundamental interconnectedness of all things? Mathematically, you might say that there is a causal effect in every event we experience. But I am not working it out. I don't even like sudoku. |

"Fate? No. I believe we are all a product of our choices. With a few random circumstances thrown in and a bit of shit as well to keep us grounded."
Do you ever wonder what could have been if you made different choices? Or are you always content with the path you chose? |

Never dwell on the choices you have made...don't live with regret it happened at that time because it was the right choice at that time... |

After reading people full time for 35 yrs I believe that every action has a reaction.
Also visualisation plays a part in an outcome of a situation, I believe we all make our own destiny.
We have choices to make every day, and by making a choice we get a reaction. |

I am also a believer in you reap what you sow. "
Can you ask destiny where me knight in shining armour is? If he has emigrated tell the fucker to come back if he has died then that's shit!!! |

Everyone wonders this occasionally don't they? It's human nature. But I'm pretty happy with the ways things are going.
I am not saying I have never made a bad decision along the way... we've all done that |

"LOL so are somethings destined to happen whatever choices we make?"
Yes. We die.
There is no fate but what we make. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I could go on.....
But if what we do is pre-determined, who or what is it pre-determined by? You can only believe in fate if you believe that your life was mapped out before you were born and, considering the chances of life even existing are so far off the chart to make winning the lottery a sure fire bet, I am pretty certain that my life is the result of a set of random chances. |

If I understand the common concensus of the replies above then all you need to do is think positive thoughts and he should be trotting round the corner any min |

"What ever will happen will happen you can't change things "
Of course you can change most things,
someone asks you for a date, you can say yes or you can say no!
and the same with every decision you have to make. |

How can you believe in both? Ether fate leads you down one path, or you lead yourself. |

Ask me tomorrow. lol
But yes, i do believe largely in fate.
The next time and Asteroid hits Earth, and it will, someone will suffer badly and it may be me. There's not a lot i can do about that. Substitute that for others, a Tsunami, a runaway fuel Train in Canada, a ravenous Tiger escapes from a zoo. Fate is all around and sometimes there aint a lot you can do about it.

Ah but by what rationale do you make the decision and can something unexplained change your decision making criteria? |

"Fear governs our decision making, fear of the unknown.
Also our upbringing, past experiences and inherited genes."
Yes I agree and it makes me wonder how much we miss out on in life for fear of making a mistake |

Life is simple we only have 4 needs, food, water, shelter and reproduction, everything else is extra, advertising, greed and vanity all play a part in controlling us, and the decisions we make, |

Well you're on a predetermined path if you follow the same lifestyles and laws as everybody else lol the path determined by society.
It takes more than to think outside the box to live outside of it.
Otherwise, nature has pretty much made sure you're all going to die, which is also a predetermined fate.
I create things however that arent predetermined because they're original and haven't been done before by anybody else in the exact way that I do. |

Arrant nonsense! we live in 21st century and people still spout pre enlightenment bollocks. If things were meant to be then you have no control over your life. Everything you have ever done or ever will be has been predetermined for you, making you a puppet of fate. It's simple, you make a choice and live with the result of your decision good or bad.

We've had lots of weird things happen since we became a couple and then got married.
It's been a little spooky. Looking back, loads of events that seemed awful at the time but we know now if they hadn't happened, lots of good wouldn't have been able to happen.

Just make the best choices you can at the time, then move on. Dont dwell on the choices you make. And certainly dont dwell on the choices you didnt make.
Just enjoy life and quit worrying. |

"No..what mechanism could exist that can organise the fate of every human being on the planet...and what we decide is 'fate' is always considered retrospectively therefore infallible."
Wow. Deep and insightful and it totaly makes sense. I like it. |
