"Insurance is the way to go"
But doesn't insurance only cover certain things?? Annual injections and check ups aren't covered are that, you'd need to read the policy I yhink |

When you take in to account the premises, staff and other overheads vets need to charge a certain amount to cover these costs so that accounts in part for the high feed. I do think that some vets treat animals with antibiotics unnecessarily.though. |

Thing is they are a part of the family and bring smiles daily when you walk in so its a small price in my opinion.. Bloody hurts at the time though..
My pooch had cancer last year in her nose, vet told me he could save her. But it maybe cheaper to have her put to sleep.. That wasn't an option ever.. Be lost without the pain in the ass. |

one of my cats wakes me up in the morning by gently tapping my leg with his paw, if he doesn't get a reaction quickly enough he opens his mouth and just rests his teeth on my skin without actually biting as if to say get up or I'll bite your leg! |

Insurance only covers medical problems, not general checkups and annual injections, also doesn't include flea and worm treatment.
If you are considering insurance then it is worth reading the fine print, some insurers only cover the first 12 month of treatment, so if a dog is for example diagnosed with arthritis, some insurance will only cover meds and treatment for 12 months, after that you are on your own. |

Insurance can be a godsend when it comes to pets. My dog was knocked over a year ago when the neighbour left the garden gate open. He broke a leg in two places which needed surgery to fix. He now has two metal plates and 24 screws holding his leg together.
Total vets bill of over £3500
Without insurance I'd have had no choice than to have him put to sleep |

My friend said she wants an English Mastiff. She's a single mum of two kids. I told her she's nuts. What with the cost of food, health care etc and then there's exercise. They're big dogs they cost a fortune in food!!

They're a dear do alright, but wouldn't be without. My newest fur baby came from local Animal Concern, £80 for chipping and vaccinations, £50 for a years insurance and £20 donation when the adoption is signed off next week. Worth every penny even though he's been breaking and entering next door and is doing his best to make me fall down the stairs and break my damn neck |
