Dont worry guys and gals its not another cock thread:
A few weeks ago I noticed a build of limescale on my kitchen tap, the toilet and bathroom tap, ive ended up buying a limescale remover for stainless steel but find im having to do it everyday!
I spoke to a neighbours son ( who works for Yorkshire Water) he says as the resovoirs are low they pull water in from rivers and have to treat it more which causes the water to go "hard"
Has anyone else had this problem and do they have any tips, im worried about the damage its doing to pipes that I cant see! |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
It's normal life in London. We have hard water.
You can get water softeners to put down the pipes if you're very worried but I don't bother. The house has been here for over 100 years and it all seems to work.
The taps are just a pain. You just have to keep doing it but you could try just wrapping them in a vinegar soaked rag overnight. |

Yes ours is a very old house and we have lived here for 15 years but never had anthing as bad as this, we did have an old shared water suply pipe replaced last year as it kept springing leaks so I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
I think il ring them tomorow and check, a few years ago we had a drip in the airing cupboard and when we turned a stop tap it flew off as was corroded... I guess im worried it might happen again |

Look in water softners for your water system..
They are filters - or alternatively, some strange electromagnetic device that you wrap around your water in pipe (by the stop-cock) and it reduced the hardness of you water.. weird science in action.. |

"move to scotland, our waters better
But you've got midges."
Now you shouldn't call Paddy that. He's much more irritating.
Hard water is better for you, and better for your hair. Sure, you get limescale but it doesn't do any damage apart from to appliances (use Calgon). White vinegar is the best way to get rid of it, although I use a wire scrubber as my fingers don't then smell like a fish and chip shop (waits for the rude comment.....) |

I'm far too sensible tonight to be adding any innuendos. |
