Bradford

Just started to watch The Towering Inferno (Film4 +1), and wondering if there's a disaster movie better than this one?

What's your favourite?

Cutthroat Island - the movie was a box office disaster but really not as bad as its made out to be.

I love disaster movies so long as they don't completely overdo it. Saying that, 'The Day After Tomorrow' was Emmerich's best and I remember liking 'Daylight' with Sly Stallone before it faded rapidly into obscurity.

The Day After is probably my favourite classic though (the nuclear fallout TV movie, not to be mistaken for the aforementioned nuclear winter film)

Alive 1993.

Forced cannibalism!! But the story itself is cracking.

And the Danny Boyle one where the guy cuts off his hand. That was pretty well made.

And 127 Hours. Surprised so many people still criticise that film
