Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Hardeep Singh Kohli is exploring the meanings for the word box and boxing.

So far the use I have seen on here sometimes hasn't been mentioned.

Give us your box/boxing/boxed meanings.

Little boxes on the hillside,

Little boxes made of ticky tacky,1

Little boxes on the hillside,

Little boxes all the same.

There's a green one and a pink one

And a blue one and a yellow one,

And they're all made out of ticky tacky

And they all look just the same.

I'll be singing that for the rest of the afternoon now.

He's the Scottish, living in London, writer and comedian. He's got a short series on R4 looking at different things. His Ode to Caledonia is very moving.

In offshore drilling vocabulary a “Box ” refers to the bit of drill-pipe that gets stabbed with the “Pin” of another length of drill-pipe during the process of breaking-down or making-up a drill-string by using a set of tongs pulled by a cat-head on a draw-works controlled by a guy in a doghouse so joints of drill-pipe can become stands of drill-pipe when 3 lengths of drill-pipe containing 2 joints are coupled together to be either tripped in or out a hole through a wear-bushing in a rotary-table or racked-back in Derrick-fingers at the monkey-board level by roughnecks who pull-slips and wield dope-brushes as they latch “Box-ends” into sets of horned-elevators suspended from bails attached to travelling-blocks guided by dolly-beams hung from a water-table just below crown-sheaves…

Yip that’s the American way of keeping "Box" terminology simple….

That sounds like someone is tripping. They are the weirdest sex party ever and all the animals have escaped from the zoo.
