No, I'm not - but I know people who are. I hate, its rude and annoying when someone just drops a conversation with you to answer a call without even an excuse me - or starts answering a text message.

No I'm not, but I know people who are. It is a bit off putting when you try to have a conversation.

When I'm in company then my phone takes second place

But then again I'm hardly ever bothered with calls coming in, I don't Tweet, have countless friends on facebook .....

Or much of a life

Perhaps habitual Phubbers could use Phubb-Phubb ringtones to alert the people in their company they are about to be ignored ...

Ha, was thinking of googling it myself but got the gist after a min.

I'm not a phubber and think those who do it are very rude!

No not at meets, but occasionally have if I'm out and about but not in mid conversation as that's rude. _

Have had a meet do it to me in the pub .... It was a business call ... So I just distracted him with some touching and kissing till he could not concentrate any more on the call thing is he liked it so much that I'm sure he got people to ring just so it would happen again ! Very amusing

Torquay

Mobile phones are banned at my place of work, and my staff are required to put them in their lockers when they come in for their working day.

Also if we go out for a family meal we have a rule that all mobile phones must be turned off when we sit down at the table....including my sons partners.

Having read the article now I can say yes to a certain degree I do at times but depends who I am with and what time of day. I wouldn't do it to go on a social networking site but I do need to be able to access emails readily.

I would never answer a call or look at a text without saying excuse me one minute either.

Hate to admit it, I'm a total phubber, standing joke amongst my family & friends. I often get comment such as "for gods sake put your phone away"

What did we all do with our right hand before mobile phones?

"What did we all do with our right hand before mobile phones?"

haha,,,,yeah,,,, I like to think we used our hands back then to enhance our ability to communicate by using expressive body language which clearly showed the people in our company that our attention was directly focused on them…
