I know that but the angle if the dangle would mean that putting something solid down the urethra means it won't hit the prostrate as that is higher in the body than the base of an erect penis, or it is on the pics I've seen online lol |

Yes, but it's still a flexible tube, so you can pass a rigid tube (like a rigid cystoscope) through the urethra and prostate into the bladder, presumably still works erect.
