I think it's about 5 years since I last drank alcohol.... maybe slightly less... |

well done, i think the thing here and in many other cases is more to do with controlling how much you drink rather than giving up a social drink with friends,
too many people these days go out with the intention of getting ratted, dont see the point in that tbh |

Well done that man.
I am most T total I drive less than one a month. I used to work in pub fixing tills, got use to been in a pub with drinking very fast.
As I do not drink and drive and I drive to the pub, I take my friend who cannot get there on his own. I just drink j20 and still have a good time.

Good on you, I've not been d*unk since 1997 when my daughter was born. I do have the odd drink but rarely more than one.
Be prepared to be asked for a lot of lifts from now on...lol |

Bloody hell, good for you!! A very big well done. Not teetotal but rarely drink, in fact I got laughed at by a guy on here as he didn't understand how I could chill/relax without alcohol

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
Although I understand the reason behind my daughters generation having 'pre-drinks' (its cheaper to drink at home) I don't see the point, as its just means you get falling down d*unk in no time. I used to drink a lot. At least a bottle of wine a night, if not more, and weekends were ridiculous. Since a particularly bad works party I have cut down so much. Never drink in the week, and if I am not out or at a friends house I don't drink at weekends either. However I enjoy the taste of booze too much to finally give up altogether. I just think restraint is better.
Funnily enough I never seem to have more money though. Heaven knows how I afforded to drink that much before! |

I suffered from really bad hangovers even if i didnt drink alot. Drink changed my personality massively and i think it had an effect on my sober personality. Before i started drinking i was always outgoing and could talk to anyone, gonup to any girl in an crack off a conversation no problem. I started drinking and it made me ridiculously confident and that made the sober me sort of go in a shell and i found it ridiculously hard to even go up to a girl on a nightout.
So the combination of massive hangovers and a change in personality ultimately lead to the decision and yesterday i didnt need ten pints to go an speak to a group of girls just a belly full of j20s haha |

I haven't had any booze for about 10 years now and don't miss it one little bit. I used to drink iced tap water (cheap date girls, wink) until i started getting worse hangovers from nearly drowning in the stuff. Now i tend to stick to lime/lemon and water alternately. |

I used to drink socially as a youngster because I thought I had to, to join in. Dad encouraged his children to enjoy the taste and appreciate alcohol but wine always tasted like vinegar to me.
I have not had alcohol for years because I simply don't see the point and I would like to be able to understand why it is sooooo important in our culture.
