The land of grey peas and bacon

I've used both and found each have their own merits....I am not bothered who cuts my hair i am more worried about if they are going to cock it up...

It's more the actual stylist for me regardless of gender.

I've had good and bad from both sexes.

from a males point of view it has to be a woman and one who's breasts brush against you when she stands behind.

Wonder if she will catch on that she has cut my hair 3 times in two weeks

I've had some bad experiences for women. Hense why my hair is currently takin forever to grow. Read an article that guys are more likely to do what client wants than what stylist thinks. As u say comes down to person than gender

Being of the profession myself I'd say it either or... Sex for once doesn't come into it

I've had good and bad from both, but I now cut my own! It's very short and easy to do. Bought myself some clippers and do a short back and sides every month-ish

I find females are better, men seem to do more what they like, which can be good or really bad........woman seem to listen more but will say if they think somethings a good idea or not

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

Only ever found one hairdresser who could do my hair the way I like it. Now I do my own. Hairdressers tend to leave me looking ridiculous as they insist on using mousse and diffusers which makes my curly hair huge and adds years to me.

Enough of this 'insist' nonsense.

Recommendations from friends who's hair you like are best way to go... Then go in for a chat.... Any hairdresser worth it will be happy to discuss options with you til you find one you click with

I wouldn't mind styling my hair, but I've got 2 many scars on my head which I don;t like showing. Can't have hair spiked or 2 short or they show

That's the good thing about the palm ones you can't do that. Just keep rubbing till you get to the bone.

I always ask myself "How would you like it cut today sir?"

Then reply "Just make me look mental"

Titz Towers, North Notts

My barber is an ex national service barber, about 70 years of age. It doesn't matter what ambitions you may have as you enter his shop, he gives you the same cut regardless. He also insults you the whole way through the process. On the plus side, his shop is full of 70 and 80 year old chaps who just sit and swear at each other and he only charges a fiver. It is hilarious to be sat there listening to some 80 year old codger telling a 75 year old that he is an idle fat bastard for turning up at 10AM....

There is a reason I wear a wig

they book in too many people and don't make enough time to finish everyone.

I'm pretty lucky my guy is good he's always runnin on time And give himself 10-15mins between clients so he's on time

"Strangely I have never had a man do my hair.."

U have to give it a try. My guy is amazin. Lovely guy gives perfect cut and colour exactly what I want. Doesn't let me do anything daft where as females have given me wrong colour for my skin tone and asymmetric cut/blunt fringe making me look fat and pale

I have a lady cut mine, when she does the sides and is stood next to me, I always position my hand so that my little finger brushes the inside of her leg when she moves, don't know if she has realised or not. Do any of you hairdressers ever get that?

Had both, only reason I tend to prefer the girl I use is because she knows my hair type and the way to cut it right. Nothing to do with gender preference for me. But if he was hot and straight I may be convinced to switch

To be fair..that's why I pay about £12 quid for my hair cut.

I have to go to a proper black hairdressers because they are the only people that understands my hair.

You cannot cut black hair the same as I white.

I'm mixed race but my hair is Afro-Caribbean.
