WTF,,,,,,, either it's safe to park or it not,,,

So how the fuk can it be seriously suggested we should allow people to park on double yellow lines if it's just for a short time.... Surely the increase in traffic pulling on and off the lines increases all the potential hazards they were put there to stop in the first place

Eric Pickles has well and truly lost the plot, if ever he had it.

I think some yellow lines are for aesthetics on town rather than safety. Councils don't want loads of cars messing up their streets so move them to side roads.

tbf there are way too many double yellow lines in many towns, often down quiet suburban roads where safety cannot be an issue. Just mean petty mindedness by many councils.

And if it is a safety issue, why then allow irresponsible blue badge holders to park where and how they wish?

If there fit enough to walk round shops for several hours surely they can walk from/to a car park.

Central

I think the idea is that city centres are losing out cos of parking issues, and people could get 15 mins free on double yellows.

But, some of them are there to prevent danger, so letting people park on any double yellow is just asking for trouble, imo.

Better to have some double red extensions, if they were going to do this on some of the double yellows, where parking is never permitted.

Don't worry people !

Park on the yellow and red lines and put on your flashy amber lights at the back ......

Not sure what it means but people around here think it means.. Fuck the Law i'm in the Dry Cleaners. ( other shops may be substituted )
