Always start off with a bar-they're less likely to twist and cause damage whilst the piercing is still healing. If you decide to change to a ring, as long as you had the piercing done at a decent place they will include all the aftercare and change it for free.

My nipples were the one of the least painful piercings I've had-tragus being the most painful. Just be patient with it and give it plenty of time to heal.

I think piercings are hot-all of them!

I had both nipples pierced earlier this year, took them out after 6 months as I was really fed up of having to ask people to be careful when playing with them.

Looked fantastic bit were a real nightmare in practicality.

My partner had both done and they have made her nipples even more sensitive than before so she reaches orgasms that much quicker and harder. Start with bars and then fit rings.

Unfortunately big boobs + nipple piercings = more likely to bash them into doors handles etc (owwww!)

Got my nip done last year, and had a bar in until a couple of months ago. Bars are a lot easier to catch and hurts like hell when you do. Found that its one piercing that never fully heals no matter what amount of aftercare you give it

Found my nip is more sensitive now

More sensitive as in omg... I have both done, its hurts for a few seconds..when they nip the nipple and pierce it. Doesn't hurt afterwards.

excellent think its a big yes then, never had a piercing before. now I need to find a good choice of bar I guess

not sure if you buy a bar before the piercing or not for them to put in, is it something you usually book or can you just walk in and get it done then.

Choice of bar, don't drink before you get it done

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

Some places do walk ins some you have to book,

Make sure you go to a reputable studio, they supply the bar is included in price,

Yes it hurts when done for a bit then just a bit sore, you must keep it clean and follow care plan,

and it takes several weeks to heal completely.

Enjoy

In all honesty, you having one done for the ladies, is a bigger turn off for me, then any piercing. Have it done for yourself, not because you think it might make you more attractive to women.

They shouldn't be looking at your nipples. Perverts.

Had mine done around 15 years ago and it's only if I'm wearing a tight-fitting shirt that it shows through enough to be noticeable.

yeah I see what your saying, I do like to hear a woman opinion on the matter. I know I want one myself, and I hear it makes the nipple more sensitive which will be nice too. But I think downsides should be considered also. I would be getting it done for me though.

most fundamental aspects

I had one nipple done in June, so it is still fresh in my mind.

I fancied something different and subtle, ie normally hidden under clothing. I also was aware that one nipple was so small, it needed "brought out" I'd been with a few women with theirs done and loved the idea of the increased sensitivity.

I'd had the thought in my head for over five years. Speaking with an old neighbour; who ran a studio, I was told not to select my nipple as a first one as it did hurt - a lot. I put it out of my head until this year when I suffered a serious accident. Going for my MRI, the nurse accompanying me had to take theirs out and it got me thinking. With all the pain I was in, would one more needle stabbing me make much difference?

At a music festival (not where I'd normally advise anyone to get done) I booked in at the tent and went straight to the bar (again, as has been said, a bad idea). When my time came, I wasn't steaming d*unk and was nervous as hell. The back of the tent opened up to a fully kitted out motor home; everything was squeaky clean, as was the German ex nurse Sabrina. I warned her it was my first and she gave me a glucose tablet to keep up my sugar levels as she did it......

Sharp scratch - really that is all I felt. Twice of course, as there is the needle and the fitting of the bar. It is a bar fitted as standard with a six week wait before you can choose something else. You MUST keep the wound clean and keep moving the bar to stop infection and healing against the bar.

I had a plaster fitted over the piercing the first couple of days - changed and cleaning daily so it wasn't until my drive home I really felt it. My left nipple alights perfectly with the top of my seatbelt! It is the nipple that is rubbed, not the bar. A girl who knows more than me, told me it was one of the best done piercings she'd seen. It is deep into my chest behind the nipple, so much less chance of catching and a nice big sensitive nipple pokes out.

The feeling for me, is still "different". In time, I'll enjoy the pleasure of the sensitivity as I have before with women who know how to use their teeth. With the addition of the piercing, it should be even better.

In honour of the piercer and as a code, I now call it "my Sabrina".

As someone used to severe nerve pain, the fallacy that a nipple should hurt more than any other part of the body, is rubbish. If anywhere hurts more, it is the ears. With a nipple piercing, there is also the least chance of infection, being well away from any mucous areas (sorry for the detail) and even in genital ones, there is much less infection risk than ears or nose.

Next year, I'm looking forward to getting a genital piercing. Not the typical P Albert but a perineum one instead.

I had a nipple pierced 4 weeks ago and it does have benefits when playing, have over sensitive nipples anyway but this piercing has added another dimension.

There was about a second of "ouch" then all hunky dory after 10 seconds. Provided you clean/bathe it as directed by the piercer there should be no infections etc... I did have to cover it with a plaster at night times for a week, since then no bother at all and has healed very quickly, getting the other one done next month.

"thanks everyone! doesn't sound bad at all to me. I presume you can remove it for a day if needed now and then, for doing sports?"

At a push remove it but you're likely to be even more susceptible to damage if you take it out. I will likely have another MRI at some point and will thankfully be well past the six weeks thing by then.

My normal job is as a tree surgeon and believe me, the worry about catching it was there. If you do sports, the best thing you can do, is use a large self adhesive dressing

You can get guards that incorporate a ring round the nipple but these are possibly even more chunks of metal to potentially get caught.

If your piercer goes in deep enough, the risk of snagging is reduced further

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

The longer you leave it, the better it'll heal, the more comfortable it'll be and the less likely the chances of complications (infections, growing out, keloids).

The above suggestion of using an adhesive to protect it when doing sports is a good one but rather than using a plaster (they adhere very well and removal will be a very delicate and potentially painful task) use sterile pads and micropore tape so you can ensure the adhesion isn't too close to the piercing.

My nipples took over a year to heal because enthusiastic playmates were too rough with them.

To ensure they don't grow out, ask the piercer to use a curved bar so the piercing can go deeper into the flesh.

Hope this has helped!

Is there some significance to the left nipple? Too late for me, as it is my left.

Some kind of code like ankle bracelets signifying swingers?

"ok I'm certainly going to get it.done

There's no significance to getting left or right side done-it's all down to personal preference (unless you believe what is thrown around school playgrounds the the left side means you're gay, right side means you're straight, both means you're bi-all nonsense!).

Growing out happens if your body rejects the piercing. Your body will lay down more scar tissue closer to the body eventually pushing the piercing out hence why it's best to have it done as deep as possible and to leave it alone as much as possible. No need to twist or turn it-that is more likely to drag germs into the wound and pull scabby bits over the very delicate newly formed skin damaging it. All a piercing needs is a twice daily soak with sea salt dissolved in boiled water (very dilute).

Beware-when you get one, you'll want more!!!

My vote would be for a lorum! Guiche piercings don't do anything for me whereas a lorum at the right angle... yummy!

The Guiche would be more for me tbh. The one I thought would be fun for one of my play partners, who has a HHP(right terminology?) is the pelvic but would not increase my enjoyment directly. Although I'd love her to feel them jangling together.

You will most likely get a standard stainless steel bar when first pierced. I wanted a ring or close fitting (for snagging risks) D before getting mine done. I quite like the bar now and with the depth would need quite a large ring.

You will have the six weeks post piercing to decide what you like as a future fitting and of course can chop and change dependent upon how you feel or if you're on your way to a meet.

I've seen sword shapes I like the look of and like the idea of it being my Skean Dhu yet hidden when wearing the kilt - thinking now, the Skean Dhu effect may be more fun on future lower down ones

haha lorum looks quite good, I can imagine it giving a nice sensation as it touches up against the lady too. Nipple piercing is first though.

Shame if you can only get the standard stainless steel one at first. So I'm guessing you can't change it then for the first 6 week

Ok I've emailed a few places to book my Nipple Piercing

Some say you can choose a piercing they put in, others say your given a standard stainless steel one to start with until healed. Does anyone else know if you get to pick a piercing or not? I want a barbell I know that probably black if possible.

Does anyone recommend any styles that look good on a guy? Straight or curved barbell, black or stainless steel, balls or spikes etc. First piercing ever so my knowledge is very limited
