I hate to see people drinking in public, people who walk round the street drinking cans of beer just look common, I cant believe people cant manage to get from A to B without the need to drink alcohol on the way

In my opinion drinking at 11.30 in the morning is to early and again don't look good sat outside at that time

But then I have a very negative attitude towards alcohol full stop so am probably bias

I don't see why its needed on a day to day basis

I'd like to point out that drinking beer at 11.30 while camping is most acceptable- as is being in the pub by 12.30 for a 5 hour pre BBQ session.....just make sure the Barbie is set up in advance and you've ordered the meat from the butchers to collect as you stumble back from the pub

I'll take judgemental. I think drinking on your doorstep is a really chavvy thing to do. These houses have back gardens and I think blaring music and drinking at 11.30 on your doorstep is really chavvy. If that's me judgemental then I'll take it.

Well this puts me in a predicament with my house as the back garden gets used as the front but I prefer to sit out at that side as there's loads of kids playing out the other side. I don't sit on my doorstep, I have a table and chairs, and I pour my beer in a glass

ar we breed real chavs round here, you know the type that always have hi viz work gear on even tho they've never had a job in their lives, unless you class raiding peoples back yard while they are out and weighing it in as scrap as a job, probably to get cash for their next 11.30 session

Its is normal to go out on an all dayer and start drinking from the early hours. That's if its a special occasion or they haven't had one in a while. However if they do it all the time, week after week, month after month. Then I would think they are stupid as they should be doing better things with their time and money.

If they are playing music loud enough to annoy neighbours a few doors down its not just enjoying their space really...its having no concideration for your neighbours.

I went to view a house to buy a few years ago and didnt buy it because there were 4 or 5 lads late teens all drinking playing loud music in the front garden and i could smell ...it all looks offputting.

Enjoy yourself by all means but dont harrass people for your enjoyment.

Not a snob no, you may hold whatever opinion you wish about when its appropriate to drink beer as long as you would you think the same thing if they were drinking a pre-lunch glass of sherry in a marquee on the front lawn at an early wedding breakfast with a string quartet playing in the background.

I wouldn't I admit

It is harassment tho

As far as im awear has not been made legal and music played that loud half the street can hear it is classed as anti social behaviour, both of witch have law to control and govern them

If you live in council property you arte in breach of your tenancy for both

Rules and laws are set to make life comfy for everyone, so no its not upto you how you spend your own time, unless your doing it within such laws or have no regards for other people

Lol...I'm sure if OP felt so harrassed by the LOUD music then she would have complained to the council, they would have sent an EO who would have measured the noise level, if it was found to be above the accepted level then tennents would be notified, if none of this happened then I ASSUME its because the music wasn't loud, and OP is easily irratated and has little patience or tolerence for those living lifestyles different to hers!

I find that things I don't enjoy irritate me also, but its unfair for me to blame anyone but myself for being irritated!

Some folk don't like going to pubs, too expensive and crowded with d*unk people and why should they if what they want to do is have a wee drink in their own garden and listen to some tunes!

I don't like alcohol as it turns some fascinating people into arse holes who can't even speak!

Having said that...there's nowt like a cool beer on a sunny day, the time of day IS irrelevant!

No. You are not a snob.

You just have poor taste in music and assume one beer leads to d*unkeness.... you are also either very nosey or have fabulous vision. I can't tell what someone is drinking four doors away...... mind you , castles are quite wide at the front.

Only if we dont drink it on the door step whilst listening to crappy loud music

And for anyone who says they have never passed a judgement haha ha

We are all very guilty of looking at something and thinking...really?

I would never do that..or i dont like that.

Its nature to do so

Its also nature to learn from our mistakes, and not to continue making them! "

Most people do ,but some might someday they just can't help themselfs

I guess there’s a possibility some people's shift-patterns mean their quality-time / recreational drinking has to take place at time of day that doesn’t fit the norm.....

I came off a night shift in a care home where there had been a death that night. I opened a bottle of red wine at 7 30 am and took my daughter to school ( walking I hasten to add ) at 8. 30 after having 2 glasses. I did wonder what when I got back others had thought of me tipsy at that time, well all for a second
