The two best dogs I've had were a Siberian Husky and Bedlington Terrier - very different but both fantastic.
Not home enough at the moment to be able to have a dog |

we used to have a black minature poodle and a minature long haired sausage dog, now we have got a very small jack russel cross which is smaller than a cat. she is a lovely dog very friendly but noisy, likes to play all day.
i like all dogs but i like small ones best. i would like another poodle and sausage dog because i realy miss them even though they have been gone a long time. they are like children to me i couldnt live without them, only less trouble than children.

long shot but .... as the bedlington was probably working line rather than show line, it wasn't from the Rambo/Sambo bloodline was it? My pup was and was recognised as being so walking around town I thought they all looked the same. |

If I had one I'd go for a good old mongrel so I didn't have to watch an animal suffer from the various inbred problems kindly given to most pedigree breeds to satisfy the desires of dog breeders and show judges |

We have 2 rescue basset hounds. Fat Stan, the old boy is a lemon and white, totally chilled out and laid back but smells like he's been dead a good 6 months (it's a hound thing). And Franky boy, the baby, he's a lil mental but so soooo affectionate.

I have a greyhound and a Labrador
the greyhound is just the best dog ever, hs so placid and laid back, no trouble at all, he just thinks he's the size of a yorkie and sits on your lap accordingly
the labs just a fucker, i love him to bits but hes like a bull in a china shop and smashes the house up charging about, highly intelligent dogs but wouldn't recommend one to people who work as they don't like being alone, get bored easy and trash your house they need a firm hand which i don't have |

"All hail the springers..... "
Amen to that. My springer is now 13, she's only just calmed down. She is a brilliant dog, Iove her very much.
On a rather random note though still dog related, I think I look like an afghan hound |

Sorry but its a German Shepard. I know it's being picky sorry "
Haha! It's ok jeez.
Mine aren't the shaggy long haired ones, mine are short haired.
The thread title has K-9 in it.
One of mine (zeus) looks like the Alsation in the film K-9. He has the same band across his head. |

I know where you are coming from with cocker spaniels. We have one and she is 13 years old. She is my best friend, always follows me around and my wife says I give the dog more attention than her... |

If it wasn't For the fact that you have to pick their shit up I'd love a French bulldog.
I saw a miniature English bull terrier the other week and she was soooooo cute!!!! My grandad used to breed standard sized ones so am a bit biased towards them. |

German shepherds for me. Most have been rescues. Latest one weighed 25Kg when picked up - bald and stinking with a skin infection. Fostered him from day 1 (day 3 actually) - cost the charity (GSD2000) over £1000 in vet's bills before he was ready for us to take over financial responsibility. Now a healthy 36Kg. Four legs or two, everyone is a long lost friend to be greeted with a wagging tail regardless of whether they want to be greeted or not. |

I have a jack russell. I found him, took him to the police station, they were going to get the council pound to take him but they couldn't say if he would be destroyed if he wasn't claimed. They let me the him home and I gave my details so that if anyone came in reporting him missing they knew where to find him. He wasn't chipped, and we've had him two years nearly now and they kids love him. He's lovely, very cuddly and I wouldn't be without him now, but I do prefer big dogs, gimme a st bernard anyday!! |

GSD's were first brought to the UK after WW1 but no one wanted a 'german' shepherd dog so they were renamed alsatians until 1977, after which they were called by their original and correct name of German shepherd dog. |

A silver one with a red eye and a laser beam. And when ever I ask him to turn on the porn he shall reply "Affirmative Master".
Ok wait a moment, this site is like 90% populated by people from the uk right? And it really took the American to make the first terrible Doctor Who joke in this thread? Lol |

And they were named Alsatian because they were originally brought over by the soldiers from Alsace. They were also known as Alsatian wolf dog. |

We have a border collie. She's a blue mearle and 4 years old. The second blue mearle we've had. She's called Darcy she went in for her "treatment" yesterday. Lol. Bath, coat clipped. Lol. She's normally a long haired dog but in this weather we like her short. If you look at her she woof's at you. Yes she's our baby. Lol. |

That's a really good age, I wish my Staffy had that sort of life expectancy.
My last dog a Jack Russel went to 17.5 years. |

Yeah his back legs are going and is on medication for it so don't think he has long left really. Saying that we have thought that for the last few years he is like a Duracell bunny just keeps going |

"Chow Chow."
We took over my Mother's chow-chow when she became too frail to look after it. The cat treated it as a bed with a permanently switched on electric blanket. In all other respects that dog was sufficiently boring to become a fascinating subject of conversation. |
