I know this will probably be ignored but does anyone meditate or use relaxation techniques?
I am struggling with panic attacks at the min due to medication and was wondering if anyone could help/advise?
Please either message me here or inbox.
Thanks in advance x |

I do yoga. The stretching of muscles and breathing techniques help the endorphin releases and help me anyway...
It's very much a preference thing I would imagine as some people have a cigarette instead...

Yes. I practice Meditation and breathing exercises almost daily.
I also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to work through problems, it may help you to get to understand why you have the attacks and how to put actions into place to help avert them, or lessen them. |

Ask your doctor if they can prescribe Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I think it very much depends on the PCT though, I got it through my doctors here, yet my friend that lives 10 miles south, can't get it prescribed.
It really works. I'm a different person since I had the therapy combined with counselling.
I also go for floatation tanks once a month, they are amazing. Enabling the whole body to switch off. |

I don't meditate as such, but I do often sit in silence and do my best to clear my mind of anything that's been bothering me - it seems to help as does stroking one of my pussies (the feline type, I haven't got multiple fanjinas) |

I have had CBT and they seemed to be obsessed with certain issues which I don't like to discuss.
Can anyone recommend any meditation or relaxation sites I could listen to? Please |

Try looking up mindfulness theory online. I have tried meditation but struggled (I've also experienced panic attacks). Mindfulness you focus on what your senses are experiencing n therefore you stop focussing on the thing you're anxious about. Various techniques n advice. |

Meditation works wonders for me, helps declutter my mind. Also breathing exercises and training your thoughts to bring happy thoughts to the forefront of your mind and not negative ones.
I used to suffer from agoraphobia and lots of panic and anxiety attacks, few n far between now. I used music to get me through the attacks while attempting to go outdoors. Worked for me! |

Thank you all for your suggestions and messages.
In regards to CBT, I have had it a couple of times as in the full program of sessions but it hasn't worked for me unfortunately.
Thanks again and I'll Google away some suggestions
Here's to a clear and relaxed mind |

"my wife always uses phsycoprophalaxis i think its called
something she learnt for painless childbirth many years ago"
A word like that would clear everything from my mind by trying to pronounce it lol.
Thank you, will look that up too. |
