Yesterday Mum and I went to Pizza Hut and were greeted by a lovely man who was the same age as me. He greeted Mum and I by saying "Hi Girls" to which my response was "I'm a woman"
Do you object to being called a girl/boy if you are an adult!? |

escapes me why its such an issue for some people to be honest
poor manners such as people not thanking u for holding are a door open would grate me much more than being called a boy |

I know it was meant to be an informal greeting, but that was not professional imo.
A "good evening, ladies" would have been more appropriate.
In a close social circle or amongst friends, it's another thing, and don't mind at all |

Hi ladies would have been more appropriate , but I guess he was just being polite and friendly.
I don't like being called a girl, but it also depends in the way it's delivered. |

wow. Some people eh! Imagine trying to be friendly in this day and age. He should have been reported to his line manager, sacked, then taken outside and shot! |

"haha….. I have to put up with people calling me all four options and I’m a bloke......
You poor dear!
Yes I know!!!..... some days I just don't know which way to turn..... "
Don't worry, after Ryan's recent life changing events - from Brokeback Mountain and then becoming a CD/TV for a strip tease challenge - I'm sure he can relate to your troubles |

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest, in the Pizza Hut situation. I'd just assume that he was trying to compliment me by pretending to think I am younger than I am.
It wouldn't be professional in the workplace, however. And if I was buying something 'serious' (like a car or a house) I would find it very patronising to be called a "girl". |

Yes I do and I really dislike it in a swinging context. |
