Do you ever read a thread and feel uncomfortable or awkward when someone posts something that really shouldn't be shared?
Please don't name names or exact examples obviously.
I have a habit of copying my 6 year old niece who says "Awkward!" in an American accent when told off ocassionally |

Sometimes people seem to post quite personal and intimate stuff which seems out of place. If it was a verbal conversation there'd be an uncomfortable silence |

Our youngest son went through a spell of saying 'that's embarrassing' in a very loud voice - usually when people had tripped or something.
re. The threads - yep loads. |

I have to force myself to stay away from the controversial topics. I'm a gobby opinionated cow and could easily get myself into trouble. Especially with the stupid narrowminded comments I see sometimes.
I jsut think some things aren't appropriate topics for a site like fab. I'm just here for fun. Can't we just stick to the fun stuff on here? If I want controversy I go over to twatter.

Yeah defo.
I think people forget this is a wide open forum where your life (well not mine) is on show.
I have a laugh and read a lot of good stuff here.
But to hell with sharing personal shit. Nope.
Tongue well and truly in cheek.

Why wouldn't something be appropriate on here? It's just bar talk isn't it? |

I think it's endemic as a result of the Facebook influence. People are all to quick to share things that kinda need to be kept behind closed doors. |

Some people share some very personal stuff on here. The kind of stuff I would only share with those closest to me, not strangers on the internet. But that's just me. Personal opinion and all that. But I can of course just easily ignore those posts... each to their own. |

Not so much the thread topics or opinions, yes some can be controversial and derogatory but that's shat makes forum for me. I would be so bored with constant love in and fun threads.
The posts that make me cringe are the sick bucket type responses from guys to women. For example if a woman has been let down with a meet, there will usually be a few guys who will post 'he was a dick and didn't deserve you, your gorgeous, sexy and amazing. I would worship you if I was lucky enough to meet you'. I always cringe at those and think dear god, take a look at how your acting ..... |

People sharing whatever they want to doesn't make me cringe...
The "love in" posts and the "territory marking" do |

The peeing on a lamppost ones can be annoying and amusing in equal measure. Especially when the object is busy scrubbing it with bleach. |

I apologise. I wasn't meaning for it to come across bitchy or overly judgemental. It was just some things I have read have painted a picture in my mind which I can't erase or have made me vom a bit in my mouth or if there's an unjustified argument going on, I feel like it's my parents having a row.
Sorry for not being clear and for appearing judgemental |

Very often. In fact in guilty of contributing to those awkward moments.....blurting out something you think is funny then realising that in the context of written word, it can be interpreted so many different ways and.
But that's forums. If we don't join in, well never learn. Its like a class in acceptable social etiquette in here and those who persevere soon learn......or die a horrible forum lynching death |

the level of sycophancy for a fem as opposed to a guy when posting on certain issue's is pathetic..
smacks of desperation and a lack of respect..
