No, I couldn't read or write until I discovered internet porn site chatrooms, then the first two years or so after that I couldn't write ( mainly because of cramp though )

Still scribble a lot here....but I did find that after 5 years of typing everything up at uni that it took a while to get used to writing with a pen again

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

I frequently have to write on flipcharts.

Many moons ago I would put so much effort into making all the letters/words neat and easy to read… everything in a straight line… whilst trying to write from the side of the flipchart stand.

These days it’s more like abbreviations scribbled at various diagonal angles. I'll often comment “You know what it means!"

No I do a lot of writing for work interview panels, grievance and disciplinary hearings, one-to-ones etc. If I'm in a meeting I write in shorthand.

What hand-writing skills???!!!

Peeps beg me to type things up as they have difficulties in reading my hand-writing. They can't read it even if I write it out in capital letters!!!

So, no!

Sad to say but yes........... the only hand writing I really do is take notes at meetings or rarely take minutes, both end up more scribbles and lines!! Have to decipher them quickly after the meetings or I can't read what I wrote lol!!

I do worry about the young kids and their reliance on the computer and not doing so much hand writing....... will it be a lost skill for many?

Hand writing is fine, I still take notes at work. What has got worse is my spelling. it wasn't great to begin with, but with Word and the spell check, it's all to easy to take the auto suggestion and move on without actually seeing what is correct

My normal handwriting is appalling, especially at work when as I tend to rush it. But if I'm sit down with a decent pen my handwriting is almost calligraphic.

I do think we are getting out of the habit of writing things though. How many would panic if you run out of ink for your printer and have no spare cartage

I had one monday and it made me jump when it went off. I think that's only the 2nd this year.

I am presuming hand writing will become a skill of yesteryear
