ive had this, its a common windows problem, assuming its a laptop try unpluging everything and then plug back in its worked for me in the past, and i mean switch off and unplug chargers etc then switch all on |

When you say, it is not recognising it, what do you mean? It is giving you a message, or is it just not doing anything? Also how long are you wanting for Windows to find it?

do you have a hdtv? if so it should have A usb port on it.
Or try a mates laptop.
if these don't work, your hdd is fucked. I've had this before.

Do the update first see if this fixes the problem. If your external HDD will not normally work directlyin your laptop as it has no operating system on it. What brand of hard drive is it ? |
