Prime Ministers Questions at the House of Commons....
David Cameron just paid tribute to Andy Murray on his win at Wimbledon.
Fortunately Ed Miliband paid tribute too and pointed out that Virginia Wade won the women's singles in 1977.
Without taking it too far haven't there been British successes at Boys and Doubles level?

This weeks PMQ's has been an utter shambles..... I haven’t noticed one direct question from either party receive a direct answer from the other side,,,,....  |

Think there's been British junior champions recently at wimbledon,
it should have been worded better, hes the first men's singles Wimbledon champion in 77 years but...
angela mortimer/anne shilcock won the ladies doubles at wimbledon in 1955
Virginia wade ladies singles champion in 1977
Jamie Murray won the mixed doubles in 2007
Jonathan marray won the men's doubles in 2012
as usual the governments fucks up by missing a few details out, |

Mini fish with chips is £2.50 at my local chippy- fish is the size of a small whale and they use a sack of spuds for the chips. Made the mistake of ordering the small portion and a normal size fish first time I went in- would easily feed 3 people and a hungry dog! |

I'm just saying that maybe he meant to point out that Murray was the first brit to win the MEN'S singles at Wimbledon, and just missed a word out? I don't know, I didn't see it. Or maybe he just needs to get his facts right as you pointed out! |

Its not just Cameron. Ive seen it elsewhere. And he said 77 years ss if 1977 never happened. He completely wiped out that piece of history. It wasn't just a word missing. It was an entire historical event in sports. Pretty huge thing to 'miss out' and a clear indication of how irrelevant women are in some circles. |
