picking up from another thread got me thinking.
The Herald of Free Enterprise sinking was my luckiest escape, I was driving coaches abroad at the time and was booked on that crossing with 77 passengers on a double decker coach.
we made such good time travelling up from the south of France that it worked out quicker to go to Calais and get an earlier sailing with a shorter crossing.
we were halfway back through england when the news broke. The other lucky break was that i had driven through the night so would have sneaked into the bunk on the coach to get some sleep
what was your lucky escape or very near miss ?? |
