If someone local mails wanting to meet, I expect him to send a face pic fairly soon after chatting if he doesn't have one on his profile.

I keep my face pic on public view in my gallery.

That way people can get their disappointment over n done with BEFORE they send their first mail

If his first message intrigued me I may message and ask for one, but mostly I'd look at the profile and if there were none on there I'd just delete ! If nothing grabs my attention then I would move on ! Like going to the bakers for bread .. You are more likely to buy a cake if they are on display than if there is a sign that said "we have cake under the counter" !! Bit like verifications too ! If someone said they have cake in that shop its really really good ! You may want to taste it too

but I'd still need to see it first!

No we wouldn't because,

1)we like to have a rough idea what that person is like physically.

2)shows a complete lack of effort. If someone cannot be bothered to upload a pic
