Should Murray get a knighthood?

Bradley Wiggins got one, Alex Ferguson go one, Cliff got one so should Andy Murray get one even if it would be presented by a English monarch? ..........Come to think of it would he accept it if she asked him to get on his knees for one?

For me its to early in his career to even consider it ……surely his sporting achievements need to be matched with an ongoing commitment to helping others reach towards the opportunities he’s had,….

Which I’m sure he will do, and when he does, he will deserve a knighthood….!.

I'd not like to say my views just now or if it's a yes or no, but for those of you who do say yes or no: why yes or why not?

I'm not that bothered either way. Maybe ask him if he wants one. I'm sure people have got them for a lot less.

I think he has earned a knighthood, but not at 26 years of age, maybe when he reaches the end of his career...would be more fitting then.

I felt the same about Wiggins, totally earned but handed over way too early in his life.

Can someone remind me why 'Tim, nice but dim' got one? Was it for getting into 4 semi-finals at wimbledon?

"Tim Henman got one for a lot less so it's a yes from us "

If Tim Henham got one Murray deserves two.

No way. A knight commander of the realm for wining a tennis tournament?! No fucking way. In mean fair play to the guy but come on it's a game of tennis albeit played at the highest level.

I'd want to hear more about his life long commitment to charity and the fantastic, tireless effort he's put into various selfless acts for most of his life - these are the things that inspire knighthoods. ...there are thousands of unsung heros all round this country that are currently far more deserving.

Hats off to Murrey, sure - a knighthood ...not on your fookin nelly!
