Midlife crisis .And how would you know if a person was having one? Reawakening your inner rock god or buying expensive new toys .. sports cars and different things . Looking up old mates on facebook you knew years ago ? Do people have them ???

its when people want to feel like a teenager again especialy if they think their teenage kids are having more fun than what they are, they may feel they missed out by being married and having kids, so they want to meet someone who is the same age as their kids, and do the things they missed out on.

they realise they are getting older and havnt got that much time left to do things.

More seriously : I think that a genuine midlife crisis is about people worrying about getting older and losing the fun part of life, then they try and compete with their kids or other much younger people, hence the sports car and all the other paraphernelia associated with youth, adventure, risk and "fun".

But some people have just continue living a fairly laid back life style, still enjoying Rock etc and doing the things they have always enjoyed - that to me is not a midlife crisis. That in my mind is more about being true to yourself and what you like and dislike without worrying too much about what other people think about you. Being an individualist might be just that?

Not even sure if 'crisis' is the best word for it, but can't think of

another. It is knowing you are getting

older, that you don't turn heads like

you used to, that your time is over half way up, and you wonder where it has gone. The 'crisis' is what you do with all of this knowledge-the toys, the youth chasing, but no matter, as long as you are happy and true to yourself.

London

I think I'm in the midst of a mid life crisis. I've taken a leave of absence to contemplate what I want to do next.

At the moment I'm dreaming of selling my house, buying a Bison Frise, canvases and paint, packing all I can in the back of a Citroen 2cv and driving to the Dordogne to paint, eat fresh bread and soft cheese washed down with local vino.

My previous flights of fancy involved Daniel Craig and a tub of chocolate Philadelphia!
