Not often when I listen to the news do I go wtf... But today I was listening and apparently a judge has ruled in favour of three convicted murderers that to be given a life sentence is against theirs human shirts...

If anyone has a link to the story I would like to read more as I am gobsmacked...

What about the rights of the person they killed or their family...

If I understand the issue correctly the issue is the inability to reconsider the life sentence. This is not the same as saying they will be release but that it has to be reviewed

The question is where does on purchase 'human shirts' is this a new thing like those jeans with the top of pants sewn in??

This is one of the crazy situations where defending the rights of all citizens ends up offending decent law abiding people…

I don’t know the answer, but I do know that I don’t agree with the judges decision to waste even more court time and public money on these 3 loathsome individuals.....

As someone stated on a similar thread, all it means is that a review would have to be given when the time for parole comes up. This does not mean they will be GIVEN parole though.

Think of it this way. If a person in prison KNEW that he/she is NEVER going to be given parole for the rest of their lives, then what incentive do they have for abiding by the rules in prison? NONE is the short answer.

Having read some reliable sources on the subject it would seem as previously life sentences can only currently be reviewed on grounds of terminal illness and physical incapacity and the European Court ruled this does not comply with article 3. Therefore the UK needs to amend its review process and make it wider.

This again does not mean these three, who I must admit I haven't looked into, will get out

The Bamber case isn't of much relevance here because he continues to maintain his innocence and couldn't be considered for parole anyway.

To me a normal human would commit such crimes in the first places. Otherwise we'd all be doing it. Therefore when a crime like this is committed. Human rights should go out the window.

In the first line yes. There should be an edit post on here

After I've proofread my post...and if any changes needed...I copy and paste into a new post and edit...and delete the original post.

Don't know if that helps?

It doesn't actually say 'human rights for normal humans' it's for all humans.
