has anyone heard about the proposed pig prison to be built in Foston Derbyshire?
intensive farming is what its about!
26,000 sows will be housed as breeding machines, that have piglets taken away and reared seperatly, they will never see light or feel sun on their backs in their short 6 months of life!!
I was horrified at this and am signing the petition with VIVA and sending a donation to help stop it
for goodness sake this is the 21st century and cruelty to animals should be ending, not having new hell holes built!
just sickening |

It saddens me that we treat animals as little more than commodities. Not only is there the animal rights issues, intensive factory farms are breeding grounds for virus's such as swine flu and live stock are pumped full of antibiotics which then enter the food chain
If people must eat meat (I've been a veggie for 23 years) then we must eat less and what we eat must be farmed responsibly. It's far easier to feed the world when land used for animal feed is used to feed people |
