Its first Night on the 12th... and of course then there is 73 more until the last night.. so 75 amazingly varied concerts across the land..

am I along in my love of this festival of music... I am trying to decide whether to get seasons tickets and therefore Last night tickets.. or just book Proms in the park tickets..

So anyone else going??

If I dont get a season ticket I find that trying to get a promming ticket is great fun...but now I live so far away it is a bit of a disappointment if you dont get an on the day ticket.

I am lucky enough to have been to the Last night on many occasions and have to say its one of my happiest memories with my family...

those that havent gone.. give it a look as if you live close by you can get one of the 1400 standing only promming spaces for just a fiver for ANY prom.. as they cant be booked in advance..

I am considering going down with my older two daughters for the Doctor Who one.. that is being shown..

Love the movies one too... but looked through the proms listing and there are so many I want to see...

horrible histories one last year was awesome for the kids..

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I love the Proms and bought some tickets this year for someone else. I'm not going this year.

All that said, I haven't been overwhelmed by the programme this year.

The Doctor Who Prom was magical. I've just been listening to it, recorded earlier.

Anyone looking forward to any particular Proms?

I like watching the last night and will catch some of the concerts if I am watching tv at the time. I don't tend to look at the programme etc.

We are going go a local proms in the park next weekend for my birthday. It's nothing to do with the actual proms but it's a free event with a silver band ans other acts etc. Take your own picnic and booze. Great day.

My favourite bit is the end when we sing Jerusalem and land of hope and glory etc then there's a firework display. I love fireworks

Love the proms and though I'm Irish,I really feel the emotion of Jerusalem as the crowd sings. Defo will go this year

The Flamenco dancers on the Prom being shown tonight are fantastic.

I'd bought tickets for this one as a gift for someone so I didn't get to see it.

I got a season ticket for the balcony for one season and attended the Last Night.

Did not enjoy the experience of the Last Night, as it was full of peeps who turned up just for the event without attending many concerts if any at all.

Never returned after that for various other reasons while I was living in London.

The dancers doing Bolero now are really adding to the music. Beautiful.
