Think of something you have a genuine passion for as a start would be my advice

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Anything artisan seems to be 'in' at the mo, although it could have peaked. But people in York seem to be addicted to 'homemade' bread and jam.

I started my own cake business after many years of just doing it for family and friends

This last year and a half has been so busy and not having to advertise all from recommendations now xxx

Devizes

I've started one !! Jackson drums,

I customise drum kits to order,

It's a very-niche Market but I do ok!

Look at your local phone book, if there are loads of domestic repair companies near you then you will have high competition. I'm the only listed drum repair and customiser for miles ! My workshop also has full state of the art recording room, drum lessons, sales area etc, that's the thing about business, it's hard work but if your in the right thing to start with and you know all about it you should do well

Nottingham/and everywhere my location says i am ;)

You need to find a niche market for your talents.. Now I'm sure a naked appliance engineer could draw a fair amount of interested..

I thought about it, just rocking up in me toolbelt

Oops must stop thinking out loud. Haha

There is someone local to us that buys or gets for free domestic washing/ dryer machines for next to nothing repairs them then sells them on FB selling pages. He seems to sell a lot of them

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

Depends on what skills you have, the amount of capital you are prepared to invest, the amount of time you have, if it is manufacturing the amount of space you need.......

Hope that clears a few things up

someone near us gets given all the old un repairable washers, takes the drum out and scraps the rest, then takes the pulley off the back of the drum and just turns it round to make a stand... then sells them at 35 quid each as fire pits ... and folk buy them

fookin brilliant
