So just a quick poll to see what mobile phones people want next or have just got.
So are you still a fan of Apple?
Are you sticking with Blackberry?
Do you enjoy the power of the Samsung? |

I prefer HTC myself. It is a very good phone, problem is they have such bad marketing that not many people know how good they are, so they will go for the Samsung or IPhone instead. |

"Probably another iphone- will never, ever be daft enough to have a windows based phone again- useless heap of shite! "
Oh really? A lot of people I know have been raving about the new Windows phone. I have been tempted to try on out, although I own most my apps on android now so it would be a pain. |

I have a 4s and thought I was apple to the core (see what I did there!?). However my OH has a HTC one and it's immense. I'd Definately consider cheating on apple when my contract is up |

I won't ever get a HTC again. 2 phones broke on me with hardware issues. Their customer servuce was shocking. They lost my phone and it took me over a month to get a replacement.

The iPhone will always be the phone me as it does everything I want it to. However the iPhone 5 as several software kinks with it and people who own the phone will know what I mean. iPhone are aware of the problems and say the next model won't have these problems.
However I have found orange has the best signal and in store they hae excellent customer service, but there's only so much they can do their end and when you actually phone them up. The service is so applaulling. It makes me think is worth me sticking with them. |

I had the 3GS then upgraded to the 4s. Will prob get the 5 next. The battery is shit but that's prob my fault for having thirty apps running at once!!
My friend works at Carphone warehouse and raves about the Sony phones at the moment. He wouldn't have an iPhone if you paid him. But I'm used to it now and hate learning how to use a new phone x |

Most phones operate in a similar way now anyway, it wouldn't take long to work out howto use a bbetter phone |

I have a 4S and was due an upgrade last month, decided against getting the 5 because iOS7 is due in the autumn and almost certainly will coincide with the release of the 5S.
I should add that I'm not an apple fan boy but I've had iPhones for so long that all my cd collection is now on I tunes and I have all the apps I could ever want and it's so easy to transfer everything to a new phone that I just couldn't stand the hassle of switching to android and starting over. |

I would say to do something, but only recommend it when you change phones completely and not just upgrading. Basically try editing a contacts number or removing the contact. It doesn't work properly as even though it deletes or changes on your contact lost. Its still in its memory. If you go to send a text someone their name will come up and f you click on it. The name goes and just their number is shown. Same when ringing someone, but if you only change their number. You will end up with several people with the same name when you text them. So its dangerous if you want to avoid all contact with them. Hope people know what I mean by this. |

Ah, I see!
Yes, transferring all your info from iPhone to iPhone or android to android is easy but it becomes a bit of a bugger when going from one OS to another.
It took me nearly two years to get my extensive music collection from CDs and records onto an external hard drive, so it looks like I'm sticking with iTunes!
I do like iPhones and although android have definitely caught up and in some cases are better, overall they're much of a muchness for your average user. |

You know anyone with an iPhone 5? You understand what I meant though. Ask them about it. If you don't see what I mean. When you have an enemy that used to be close to you it can be a pain as you may contact them by accident. Especially if sending a bulk text or d*unk |

was thinking the same.. I have phones in the drawer that are at least a year old that are better than most current iphones.. and much more reliable. I swapped from samsung back to HTC for mostly reliability issues as still have an ancient htc diamond in the drawer yet it still works.. |

When it was the only one!
Nah, the early samsungs especially were clunky to use, not as intuitive and the android OS wasn't up to much. I admit that the processors in all the new ones are quick as hell and everything is now a lot smoother. |

It was never the only one.. nor was it the first one... Apple has always been overhyped ... but is popular mostly as its so well advertised..
I do lots of testing of new phones and with each new iphone you want them to listen to consumers but they dont. |

The IPhone was never the only Smartphone about. Nokia, HTC and others had smartphone out long before the IPhone was even dreamed about ..
Apple where never the first to do anything (well apart from the Apple 1).. They did not have the first tablet, did not have the first Smartphone, did not have the first MP3 player etc etc. |

I said earlier that I'm not an apple fan boy so I'm not going to defend them too hard and say apple are great, they're not, I'd never have a mac for example. I've been tempted by windows phones because of the inherent compatibility with a windows computer but they've never really impressed me that much.
It's all personal preference unless you need a specific feature for any given reason and I've never had any problems with any of my iPhones. Note that I always get the S models cause they've worked out the kinks by then. |

I dont like windows phones either... I have an ipod touch... but it kinda lives on my stereo and thats it..
and now mostly I play stuff via bluetooth from my phone ( phones if you count the kids)
My issue with apple is its incomptibility with everything else.. and the fact they like to make you HAVE to change everything every so often... That and I despise the way they never listen to the consumers.. there has been an ongoing thing with wanting to be able to have proper blocks for numbers and the java issues..
not sure if this has been addressed with the new ones... but I know the 4s it still hadnt. |

With nearly every other phone the chargers are cross compatible.. (Well it was an EU requirement.) Though apple have somehow brought out a phone that has a different charger... hmmmm |

I didn't say first!
Nokias last good phone was the 3210, I don't know about the lumias, they look pretty cool and induction charging is the future.
Do you know anyone who bought an early Microsoft tablet? No. You can bash apple about their marketing all you like but it works, someone had to revamp the tablet idea and look what it's got us now. There's loads of choice. |

Mrs has had blackberry for the past four years or so with various models (she's accident prone when it comes to phones)
She recently upgraded to the S4 and I shall be following suit next month when my contract is up for renewal.
I used to swear by BB, but recently they seem to have gone to shit.
I'd never buy an apple. They put electronics of equal or even inferior ability into a nice shiny white case and charge way over the odds with it on ALL of their products. Some people would buy their own shit if it were marketed well enough. |

My current phone (Samsung) is almost 2 years old and due for renewal in mid August.
I hope that newer Samsung's are better as this one deserves a fate no worse than a Public Execution! So many faults over the past 2 years, I've lost count!
Uncertain about which phone I'll go for but it cannot be worse than what I have! |
