I think you'll find we all have an epiglottis but not 'itis' which is inflammation of said epiglottis as per original post.

Not nice, hope antibiotics kick in soon xx

If you're worried don't waste time waiting for 111 to ring back, just take your baby to A&E

111 could take ages

Take them straight to A & E but try and keep calm as the child worrying and stressing could make this worse

111 is there to be used when someone (adult or child) is ill but its not an emergency. pretty sure the child would be stressed out waiting hours in A&E for something that could have waited for the docs tomorrow (possibly, i dont know for sure in this case)

and she wasnt askng for a diagnosis on here, just smome support from people while she waited.

think its very disrespectful to accuse her of not being a parent IMO

I'm not accusing anyone of being a bad parent, I just think if my child is poorly enough to need out of hours medical help then logging onto fab would be the last thing on my mind.

Actually i find there are people on fab who give good advise and, i only rang 111 for advise which is what ive done on here, im a responsible adult and i would not hesitate to take him to a&e .111 is for NON EMERGENCY ADVICE.i posted as to be honest id never heard of it!

I hope you got it sorted anyway. Anything strange in a childs mouth or near the throat especially a swelling must be checked out. Hope little one is ok xx
