I have a had couple of meets now who expected me to get messy on my new and rather expensive sofa, and who seemed put out that I was not 'adventurous' enough to agree as if I'm some frigid, boring woman.
It's not as if it's wipe clean either being fabric.
Anyone else for whom this is a no? |

As a single straight female who doesn't gush, I have no idea what it entails, but if I knew it was going to make a mess of my furniture? Not a chance in hell!
Tell them to grow up or next time meet them at theirs and see how they would react then! |

Or maybe just don't meet them again. |

"You should have kept the plastic wrapper.
I didn't spend a shitload, choose exactly the right fabric, to sit on plastic."
I was only joking
I'm not one of those weird geek collectors that keep things in their box to preserve their mint condition. |

Know how you feel.... We have just took delivery of some nice new sofas... Took us ages to choose the right ones.... We would both be pretty miffed if they got ruined!
So no we are with you on this one |

"Leather is the way forward - sofas that is "
My last one was leather. Don't like sitting on it hence the fabric. I also see no reason why my decor should be determined by my meets. |

Hard to explain. It's not the kind of fabric you can scotchguard. It's a fairly high end (for me anyway) suite. I took out a standard policy but don't want to be constantly having it cleaned. |

Whilst a lady that gushesis always very welcome, it is understandable that you would not want to damage your furnature!
Towels and a more appropriate place for such adventures is always a good idea.
Can no understand guys that think that they should do and say what ever they want...
Clearly they do not respect others, sod them and move on |

It doesn't have separate seat covers. Kind of like chaise tongue with arms either side. And a contrasting snuggler. |

"A couple were at my place and he came and some how got it on the curtains, his wife flipped out, I just laughed. It was rather funny at the time"
A couple we met a long time ago came to our place, gushed all over the bed, then followed through... Yes it is what you're thinking the reason why we left the swinging scene for a while. |

Anyone else for whom this is a no?" Its a huge NO in my book, but I also think some communication between parties where information is passed as in how much someone gushes is important as I think it would be downright rude to ruin beds, sofas etc.....without prior knowledge that this could be a possibility, as in someone calling you frigid as you didn't wish to make a mess on your own sofa, I would have asked them to leave. |

It doesn't matter if they think your being awkward at all, it's your body, your house, your furniture. Nothing to do with them.
I don't gush and I've said many times it's not something I'm impressed with. I find it off-putting in clubs when people do it in public rooms and expect me to be ok about it going on my lingerie. |

I don't intentionally gush but it can and does happen occasionally. |

I didn't say they called me frigid. They would most certainly have been sent packing if they did. |

I can gush, but would never dream of doing it in someones home,.if its a possibility then we have plastic sheets un towells to hand. And play on the floor. Think its disrepectfull of others who do it without thought for others possessions. |

I have a waterproof sheet on the bed and always double cover it with a washable bedspread, so quite why anyone would want me to get messy on a sofa instead baffles me. It's not as if its a wide sofa that would be comfortable to shag on. |
