Question for the ladies
As we go to Gran canaria a lot Im getting fed up of all my toiletries weighing the most in my case (shampoo/condioner/suncreme/shower gel etc etc).....does anyone know of a cheap shop over there where i can buy them???
All the local little corner shops charge the earth for these items so if anyone knows something i dont then please help

Just about everything on Gran Can is expensive nowadays, suntan lotions and the like are probably double the price of the UK.
The Hipo and Spar chain of supermarkets are very expensive, and chemists (Farmacia) on the island are even worse for high prices. |

"we find it best to take shampoo and suntan lotian bottles with probably enough for the holiday.. so we can we just leave them in the hotel and not leaving half full bottles of stuff etc behind !!"

you dont need big bottles of anything...you're only going to be away for a couple of weeks at most.....decant what you need....and leave all non essentials behind....you can get solid shampoo, shower gel and body butter at lush......much lighter than liquid toiletries |

We usually bring gifts etc back with us so we make sure we have a spare few kgs before we Fly out...
if your having trouble.. getting below the maximum luggage weight before you Fly out..
Then i hope you dont intend on doing much shopping whilst on holiday ...!!!!!
i usually go on holiday to shop... lol

"pay the extra £18 and you will get a extra 5kg problem sorted
weigh up which is cheaper, the excess baggage cost or buying out there"
The excess baggage is without a doubt cheaper than buying toiletries and sun lotions on Gran Canaria..... |

Book an expensive hotel that provides toiletries?
Buy your other half a very unfashionable waistcoat (like fishermen etc. wear) with lots and lots of zip pockets, fill with sachets of stuff.
I have one just for this purpose, satnav goes in one pocket, ebook in another etc.
Makes me look like a lumpy Michelin man but saves the case for other stuff. |
