I like Christmas day and boxing day but hate consumerist drive to sell you loads of Christmas crap and shove Christmas in your face for 3 months before hand.

I look at Christmas and think "oh no, what do I have to get people, money worries, working all hours so I don't have a life. Top it off bosses are trying to force people to work Boxing Day and New Year's Day and I also think of it being the end of the year and I tend to think what a waste its been."

Other events I mention I live for the moment and have a laugh and I normally dont work them and I always spend the time with mates. Xmas time I can just about squeeze and hour in for a mate.

The general consensus of opinion across the various weather sites I've looked at suggest a cool, wetter than average summer. Good news for those of us that don't like the heat

Way ahead of you there my friend - retirement at 50 to Canada to a 5 bed house on 15 acres of land with it's own fishing lake and log-cabin on the shore. Currently being done up by relatives over there and all for less than the price of a two bed semi in the UK. Couple of other things that we enjoy are legal there too! We'll send you a postcard

You should do it. Canada is gorgeous, the healthcare knocks the pants off the NHS, food and fuel are cheap and there's room to breathe.
