14 years ago today, I was arriving at Denver airport to commence work with a telco..

and had to drive an automatic car for the first time..

got the keys from the desk, minced out to the car and doh..........

had to go back in and say 'could you tell me how to work this thing'....

she wasn't as pleasant in 'customer service' as they make out..

and if I had a £1 for everytime some one said ' wow, you from Scotland, we have relatives there, the Mcdonalds they live in Edinburgh, DO YOU KNOW THEM'.....

yes I know everyone in Scotland.....

and the y used to ask in all seriousness 'wow do you live in a castle'

aye with a blue face yu daft american eedyit.... same as you sit in a tepee with a feather headress

was on holiday in Slovakia a few years ago.....met a girl from Dallas.....asked her if she went to work on a horse and if she knew JR......she didn't get the joke....lol

we were in florida when the twin towers were attacked, in the paper the queen had said nice things, so the waitress in a resterant asked us to thank her when we got home, andy with a straight face said of course when we next go for tea at the palace we will send your regards

I have to say that I couldn't really give a monkey's about Martin Luther King. He addressed a problem that was unique to his times and his locality. We've never had that sort of problem over here and it bears no impact on us or our history.
