My wipers have failed and its not the fuse she is a 1998 vw passat 1.6, so guessing its the motor?

could be a faulty switch but more chance of it being the motor burnt out, might be worth checking that the wire has not become loose on the motor.

Ok the wipers started going slowly today and intermittent then just died.

vw do suffer from lousy wiper mechenisms so its probably that

The wiper linkage seizes, I normally just remove complete linkage remove connecting rods and work it manually with plenty of oil. If you keep trying to use them then you will burn motor out.

It started to work again but slowly, he checked the relay and there was one which was too warm he replaced it with another higher power but made no difference so is getting a replacement from a breakers yard hopefully this week
