"Just a quick poll, is it now acceptable for women to drink pints ?"
No, they should be at home cooking dinner for their hubbys for when they get home from drinking pints |

Did I step through a worm hole? What, with people suggesting some women may deserve to be abused, and now this, I think I may have slipped, somehow, from the 21st century, to the 1970s. |

I am not saying that they should not. Years ago I remember it was not the done thing for a woman to order a pint, especially a pint of beer. But I think now no one would even think twice about a woman going in to a pub and ordering a pint of ale.
I was only talking in terms of it being womanly and/or good manors.
I personally thing woman can drink anything a man can and visa versa.. By the way I will have a small white wine please |

My Dad tuts and shakes his head when I've got a pint or drinking out of a can.
I used to drink pints of guiness and bitter (not together!) and blame him as when I was younger he used to buy cans of bitter on the basis I wouldn't like them. He's now realised I have the same taste buds as him and has given up.
Any ladies fancy a pint? |

Why shouldn't women drink pints?
I like beer and have always d*unk pints except when I attended beer festivals as I'd like to try as many beers as possible by drinking halves.

They can drink what they want. But my brothers ex was a small lady, and whenever she had a pint it always reminded me of the little guy from the canteena in Star Wars drinking. |

Why not its only the container not the contents. What about them only using a t plate rather than a full sized dinner plate for meals? |

It's the fact that the question can even be contemplated in the 21st century. |

My dad still refuses to buy me a pint. He thinks it's unladylike. It's strange really, my dad really isn't old fashioned at all and is quite open minded with only a couple of old man tendencies. |

I'm sure it was only about 10 years ago, there was a story in the local paper about a landlord in my parents' village who ended up throwing out a couple from London because he refused to serve a pint for the lady |

I do not drink anything that would be served in a pint glass, but equally I would not drink those same drinks in ANY size glass!
However, should they start serving wine by the pint, then I will have a good go. |

I can't drink the volume of beer I used to in my youth.
Nowadays, I would start with a pint then move to Famous Grouse and Lemonade - a double in a pint glass topped with lemonade.

Seeing as it's Famous Grouse, I'll let you off, if it was a decent whisky, I would be seriously dischuffed about such behaviour!!! |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
Not only do I drink pints, but I drink real ale. I used to drink Stella til the hangovers got too much.
I remember going into a pub in Nottingham with my then boyfriend when I was 18 (so a LOOOONG time ago) and had a pint. I popped to the loo and when I got back my boyfriend said he overheard two women talking. One said 'she's drinking a pint!' and the other replied 'Yes, I hear a lot of women do that these days.' Ahhh, progress. |

How did I miss this?..
I don't think it's ever not been.
Chicks who drink pints are normally the BEST laugh...and ladies who are a laugh I get on with best.
I don't give a shit.

I started drinking Bud under my dad's supervision at home when I was 10. He said I needed to be able to handle alcohol at social functions when I am older.
I got the taste for real ale when my first proper boyfriend took me to a beer festival.
While at uni, I could be found down at the JCR every single Friday night during term time drinking pints or downing Newkie Brown from the bottles.
I was one of 2 girls in my class that would participate in boat races, and insisted on drinking pints providing it is bitter and not lager.
I would participate on pub crawls drinking pints.
Happy days!

I like a beer or two, and have managed a yard of ale on more than one occasion. However on the two occasions I was challenged to a drinking contest by a woman I had my arse handed to me royally. Oddly both times the lady in question was a nurse.
But to answer the OP's post, if a lady wants a pint why not! |
