Wondering what zoo you would consider the best?

"Chester Zoo...but if I had the money I'd fly to Africa and go on a 5 months safari to live and experience the wilderness and the reality of a real 'zoo'. Enjoy London Zoo "
totally agree
.Chester is the best xx |

Love London zoo coz I end up in the reptile house for about 2 hours!!
The little local zoo to me is great as some of the animals are hands on.
Howlettes and port Lympne are good to.
Heard good things about whipsnade isn't it owned by the same folk as London zoo?? |

"Paignton Zoo "
I hate that zoo... way too much concrete pens. I used to do some print work for them and visited occasionally. I went there once and a zebra was really distressed and was headbutting the stable. The field had no grass, just a load of mud.
The elephant pen is just horrible, poor animals
I found the experience very upsetting and have not returned or did any more work for them |

From experience years ago, I used to like Edinburgh Zoo.
Whipsnade is owned by London Zoo and is regarded as the better zoo in the group.
I had friends of mine recently visit London Zoo and they were very disappointed in its state; run down and shabby. Plus the entrance charges for what was actually seen were simply a rip - off! Food and snacks were horrendously overpriced!
Strangely enough, within a few days, letters expressing similar negative views appeared in my daily paper. A tourist guide I know has also said to avoid London Zoo as it's best days are over!! |

Went to Whipsnade Zoo a couple of weeks ago as they hold a 10km within the grounds. Fantastic day out and great being there before it was open, highlight was that the Rhino's came out of their pen midway through the race so on the second lap as I crested a hill they were all visible on the edge of their enclosure and clearly intrigued by the presence of 1500 runners! crystal saw them charge the length of the enclosure when the first runners came in to sight.
My face is still Twycross though, lovely zoo with a lovely history. |
