I've acquired a pet african pygmy hedgehog today
Anyone else got one?
I didn't even know about them before.. But he is sweet. I love the fact they love a good scratch on their backs and they go all soppy like dogs do when you find their spot |

"Ooh let me know how friendly and simple to look after they are. I wanna get my boy a pet for Xmas and I'm York between tortoise, rabbit, guinea pig and hedgehog x "
Please consider very carefully before getting a tortoise.
They're not as easy to look after as they might seem, and can have a lot of dietary problems which leads to shell deformities etc.
I'd recommend you have a look at the Tortoise Trust website first.
Other than that .... They do make great pets |

I'm quite friendly with the owners of a reputable reptile breeder round here. I've already spoken to him about it at length on the phone and am going to go visit him soon to chat about the pros and cons, set up cost etc. they also have a shop that sells fluffy pets too so he will advise me on what's best. I hate when people get pets without properly researching them first. I've kept reps for a few years so like to know Im well informed before I get a new one x |

The one thing I would say about the hedgehog is they aren't cuddle pets.. Ouch! Kinda hard too cos he is so damn cute but it is hard to touch him and gonna get some gardening gloves for handling.. They also need supplements of live insects like meal worms or crickets.. So you may have to face a cricket escape |
