Inspired by another thread stating how many ladies cut off age for guys is around 50, I got wondering, what age do most women consider a man to be at his 'sexiest'?
Obviously there are many qualities besides age that can govern how attractive a person is, but it always seems to me that most of the male sex symbols in movies these days are in their late 30's and upwards, in stark contrast to most lads mags top 100 sexiest women where most of the entries are in their 20's? |

It's not the age to me at all, it's how the individual man makes me feel. I do have age preferences on here because I like men younger than me, but I haven't filtered them out because you never know when George Clooney will join. |

The only age rule I have is I can't be old enough to be their mother and they can't be old enough to be my father. But any age can be sexy I agree with that totally.
I have my age preferences as 10 years younger or 10 years older but I am not strict on that (well except for the really young ones) and I wouldn't say no to George Clooney either... |

I like older men/women - I am older than most on this site and
I like younger men and if they like me...why should I say no?
I have a min and max age because I am old enough to know what I want..I also think that 18 to 99 age range is like saying 'I'll shag anyone' and thats not me! Foo is absolutely right, its all down to the person, their sex appeal and charisma! |

I find I am mostly attracted to guys in their late 20s to early 30s, no idea why I guess we just like what we like

Being sexy has nothing to do with what age group you're in. I've seen some very sexy 20 somethings and some extremely sexy 60 somethings. I've personally set a younger age range on my profile purely as this is my fantasy world, for want of a better phrase, and I seem to get on better with younger men. The fact that my ex was more than 10 years my senior was a major deciding factor too lol  |

I understand that attraction is largely an individual thing, but as I mentioned in my first post, why do you suppose it is that so many male sex symbols fall into the more mature range of 40ish?
I'm talking guys like Hugh Jackman, Gerard Butler, Bradley Cooper, Russell Crowe, Jason Statham, David Boreanaz, and of course George Clooney and Brad Pitt (go-to names whenever most people think of sexy guys), these guys will pretty much always place ahead of the younger guys in polls. |

think it depends on the ages of the women voting and what magazines/websites these poles take place
think girls/ladies/women generally prefer an older man as its a protection and security thing. younger teens might vote for these type of men because they have physically aged well and the whole 'father figure'/ nice guy/ life experience things might sway them
the 30's woman might just lust after them because it becomes a realistic age gap thats more widely acceptable between female and male |

That's what I was thinking. It appears to me that across time, male attractiveness has been largely based upon dependability, most of which is based in experience, and the guys I mentioned wrap up the wisdom of their years in ruggedly handsome packages. |

So to reverse this logic.. do men go for typically younger girls to date because of physical conditioning and vulnerability? As a man is it instinct to look out and protect? |

I know men 32 to 62 who are sexy. I prefer older men, unfortunately the over 50s are seeking 18 year olds and the 18 year olds I have no interest in are setting up fake profiles of 50 year olds to get round my filters!  |

Everyone is different. As a 47yr old man I find myself increasingly and frustratingly outside many people's 45yr old upper limit. I find younger women physically attractive but end up giving fatherly advice for the most part, so I tend to go for more intellectually mature women who have their heads together..
