"Anybody on here still follow the Northern soul scene?  "
Love the music, but don't really go to any 'do's'. I go to the odd scooter rally though.
Think I'll have a few tunes on now to get me in the mood for going out.

I have surrently started going to the events again ...prestatyn in March, Grosvenor rooms Sutton in ashfield,The turning wheel Chesterfield, Rolls Royce Derby going to a Pennine reunion tonight and will be in Whitby in 3 weeks KTF |

No, it was called Tiffanys at the time & then became Clouds and has not been open for quite a few years.
It used to be an ABC cinema and I saw a few films there as well |

We were there the other Friday with another lovely couple from Fab. Great night and great music, White cleared the floor with his dancing, I'll say it he's too modest lol |

I tend to travel from South Wales to my old stomping ground in the East Midlands (mainly notts/derbys/sth yorks) ..if anyone knows of northern soul/Motown nights in South Wales I'd be really appreciative lol

For those of you who want to know what's on, where and when the Soul Source site has an extensive and comprehensive events guide and you don't have to join/register to view that and many other articles on the site. Personally and imho there are too many do's on, more DJ's than punters and far too many so called promoters clashing with other events. I've been on the scene since 75 and have never left it. The music stays in your blood once it's in but I abhor anyone who refuses to listen to anything new as in discoveries from 60's/70's and have only got 200 of top NS 500 in their head. There's so much more to listen to and explore and enjoy. Something I think everyone on the site would enjoy is the morning after feeling - nowt hornier

Unfortunately gonna miss the Wigan revival nighter, yet again event and festival work conflicts with soul nights but I got my eye on a Yorkshire weekender in November and a Lincs one next Feb |

Used to be a night called Fabulous in Cardiff @ Dempseys. Wasn't just NS - any nod influenced stuff really. The night was still happening last year.
I've stumbled across other nights in Cardiff over the years. Wouldn't say they were out and out NS nights, but the DJ has played a lot if it.
I used to see posters for a night run by a scooter club up the valleys too, but I can't remember the name. Had a quick google, but nothing obvious. |

The one in the valleys you may be referring to was in Crickhowel on the Abergavenny-Brecon road run by the Valley Soul Commandos which started about 2004 but stopped a few years back. I went once with friends from Bargoed and I remember it was a pig to find. |
