Often in my line of work I come across the innocence of children. This is never more prevalent than today.
We are looking at fantasy writing and I'm encouraging the kids to use better vocabulary to enhance their writing. So we are doing character and scene development before writing a story about the fantasy land we have invented and what goes on there.
So this lovely child says to me, "I want to put a dungeon in my fantasy land" so I of course ask what they will have in the dungeon, "places to tie people up, cages and irons for their legs"
A few minutes later he asks me, "Would you prefer to go into the dungeon or the chamber?"
I very calmly answered "the dungeon" but I couldn't explain why!
God I love the innocence of children, life seemed much simpler when I was a child! |
