Well am going on Sunday but I have been listening to the soundtrack by Hans Zimmer .. It's great as it sounds like a mix of batman and gladiator and has no theme to speak of so like I say its not a score you will play over and over again and it would have been awesome if it had a nod to the iconic superman theme by John Williams but its not and you will go to see the movie and be humming the Williams theme in your head

I'm a bit of both it looks good but I'm also worried they will ruin what is a brilliant film from my childhood, just as long as its not as awful as that Shite they made a few years back with what's his face that nobody remembers

I'm not a Superman fan at all but I'd watch this reboot. Probably be a bit like Batman begins.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I wish they had kept the theme tune. To me they go together very well. It's not quite on a par with remaking the Dambusters without the march, but is a rum thing to do all the same

I'm getting really bored of all the remakes/rehash/zombie/vampire big on effects but light on plot films that hollywood seem to be churning out. I rarely go to the cinema anymore or get any level of interest in any new releases.

I spent over a decade working in film and TV but drifted away from it when it became about the veneer over a cheap frame, not a good solid body of work- this is why I prefer non hollywood films as they generally have budgets lower than the cost of feeding the hollywoods stars pet monkeys or whatever- so story and plot is everything!

New films for the new generation. I'm still waiting for a remake of Jaws or Platoon.

I like watching foreign films. Some good stories, good comedy, no douchebag actors.

I posted in another thread already.

Not particularly impressed.

Repetitive fight scenes, too much CGI, not enough time given to character development.

However, there are some solid acting from Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's Earth parents.

Henry Cavill is a looker and has a great body, however, he lacks screen presence to carry the film.

And the music is not a patch compared to John Williams' rousing original.

It was a good film, however, not a great film, and to call it an epic would be unjust to the cinematic greats that are Gone With The Wind and Ben Hur.

It is worth seeing it on the big screen though, as there is so much going on, it may not transfer well to a smaller screen.

Loved it.

Just read the reason behind the ending. They had shot an ending where Zod gets pulled into the phantom zone as well but tested with audiences were very negative.

They pitched the new ending but no one liked it, then they pitched it again with the NO Choice and how it can push him into never killing again.

Also anyone noticed Lex Corp trucks, building?

Man of Steel 2 will no doubt bring Lex into it, being the one to rebuild the city, steal lots of alien tech and basically starting the campaign against Superman for the destruction/deaths.

What's it with the kids in d- box seats at cine world. AWSOME start for the franchise which I'm sure will extend into the justice league film Wonder Woman the flash etc. shame on the music though. I been humming the old tune all week ha ha would have been so uplifting the old tune start playing as Henry cavil walks out for the first time in the suit. Can't wait for the DVD already

I agree with the above comments about it being a good film, but not a great film. After a while I felt like shouting "Hey Kryptonians! Clearly throwing each other into things and throwing stuff at each other doesn't work" after the 50th building got destroyed for no reason.

Zod's ending was good though. A sequel is inevitable.

Well its been nearly a week since i saw it and im still feeling amazed by it !!

Being a huge Superman fan anyway I was really concerned i was going to be let down, and having read all the negative reviews ( not on here ) I do feel there is far too much comparison to the previous films.

Man of Steel is a different vision, darker much more serious. To compare it to the other superman films is pointless in my opinion. I think Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan have done an awesome job in re inventing a true super hero and at the same time showing his huge struggle to come to terms with his powers and his choice of sides.

I also think there is far more depth to this film than some give credit for and i for one will be watching it again.

For me definitely 10/10

So working at Blockbuster wasn't all you'd hoped it would be but to have such a negative out look is denying yourself some excellent chill out time.

You remind me of a miserable critic that takes movies far to seriously..

Most movies have a subplot that in someway may relate to another movie some where and every once in a while a new idea pops up and makes an exciting and now visually stunning and if lucky with a great sound track too.

You can't please everyone but if the numbers of people going to see these block buster movies is to believed the industry is very healthy, remember every new generational may like to look back at what dad says " it was far better when i was your age!" but in reality would prefer for the most part to see movies being made to their full potential ie Star Wars.

The original George Reeves and at least the Christopher Reeve versions by today's standards are so camp but were the best that could be achieved in their respective times.

This version is a lot darker and clearly leaves room for more story lines, also and for me is showing that the director has at least had a rethink or a calming of his style after his last movie 'Watchmen' which for me was a couple of hours I wish I could get back!

He did make 300 which is what persuaded me to go to see Watchmen', so good to see him back on track with Man of Steel.

Henry Cavill is possibly the best actor yet to have played Kal-El.

Ladies, it's all Cavill in that mirky blue suit! And this is the first time I've liked Lois's character..

I fully expect some to disagree but then I don't take movies to seriously and go to be entertained for a couple of hours...which I wasn't with Watchmen... lol

Went to see a small British movie a couple of weeks ago with Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arteton called 'Byzantium' a vampire movie with a difference, it hasn't had the publicity it deserve and I was one of only 3 people in the auditorium! bit it was good fun!

There quite a few subtle references to previous supermans in Man of Steel which i really liked

Some are saying the fight scenes and devastation were too much and to BIG ! Its funny cos i would like to know how they would measure the destruction scale of immesely powered aliens fighting ???

Also the apparent lack of humour ?? Umm did they miss the bit with the guys truck outside the bar ? Or the subtle sound of the tin can bouncing of Henry Cavil ?
