do you ever jinx yourself with what you say?

Yesterday I was talking to evie about how I am statistically due to have an accident in the car due to number of miles I travel.
Today I manage to avoid a multi vehicle crash on the m5 by the skin of my teeth and quick reactions.
So it got me thinking had I tempted fate by saying this? |

"Lorry swerved and took 3 cars out. Being just behind it I broke and swereved to the inside and hard sholder. Thankfully no one was hurt. But 10 seconds later it would have been my car!  "

You could just as easily say that your raised awareness saved you from a bad accident. So maybe it was luck rather than jinx?

I used to always jinx myself by putting words in people's mouth just to be nice even though it really wasn't what I wanted!
So I just keep my mouth shut now - until it really matters  |

lol.. not laughing because letsbe was nearly in a pile up but because your an actual couple and you find out something as serious as that via an internet forum. |

I think so but on a good way!! After 5 job interview failures am I told myself not to bother and just concentrate on getting further in my current job, two weeks later I get a call and now have a much better job, better shifts and better locations......someone, somewhere was looking out for me  x |
