I wouldn't get a tattoo myself...
But I'm genuinely curious to know why someone would choose to get a tattoo done on an area where they can't ever admire it, or even see it as its being done..?
This isn't a loaded question by the way.... I am genuinely curious!

Are you always conscious of it being there or do you sometimes forget you have it….?. |

mine have stories to them so I have them in the back of my mind even if I cant see them

I was never ever having a tattoo until 2011 when I was told I wasn't the type of person to, too "normal", so I thought fuck it I will and designed my own.
It is on my left shoulder and can be seen even if people can't read the letters as I designed the font  |
