Its a daft fear i know but stems from my grandad taking his out to chase me with as a kid...and they terrified me.

Years ago my lads dad had an accident in work and smashed all his front top teeth in i made him have screw in ones as i couldn't stand the thought of him having ones that could come out...cost us a fortune

Don't know the name of either. More scared of worms than dwarfs but I still think Snow White and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are horror movies.

Mines water

Scared to death of the stuff, if I get to close to it I start hyperventilating, I used to pay for my kids to have swimming lessons and my sister had to take them because I didn't want them to grow up not being able to swim and I can't even sit next to a pool and watch, even that makes me fidget and makes me feel nervous

I cant go in a shower cause I don't like the water running over my face, even that makes me panic, I have to use a bath and wash my face with a flannel, I have very strong memories of being young and the hassle I went tho every bath time with my mum trying to wash my hair, my dad would pin me down while she threw jugs of water over my head, I would be terrified and be screaming and fighting them off the whole time

I have no idea where it stems from cause im not usually a wimpy person but the sight of a pool or the sea just gets me sweating

I don't have any irrational phobias, I think my fears are quite reasonable

Heights - well not so much the height, more the long, screaming plummet to my death.

Fire - Can easily get out of control, and result in my death.

Knives - I HATE it when Dave messes about with knives in the kitchen, usually ends with a nasty piercing screetch and door slam as I leave the room.

I dislike spiders when one appears out of no-where, but I catch them and put them in the garden.

All pretty ration fears in all

That is my understanding, that a phobia is an irrational fear of something i.e. a fear of baked beans, unless you are allergic you have no need to fear them. Could be wrong, yes sometimes a woman will admit to being wrong

Mine is similar to that but was caused by nearly drowning as a child. I cannot put my head under water at all. I have a shower every morning but that is OK as my head is not submersed. It was extremely difficult not to transfer my fears to my children but somehow managed it.

bambakomallophobia. The fear of cotton wool. I feel physically sick when I see the stuff. Ju has to hide it in the house and not tell me where it is. If I know what cupboard it's in I can't walk past it. If I'm going for a blood test I have to prewarn the doctor that I don't like it and to put it in a drawer before I get there or it's likely I'll run out. I'm starting to feel funny now just writing about it.

When I was young (12 yo) if there had been a lot of rain the night before, we'd get up at 4am with my brother...go to the nearest woods and collect tiny little 'rain frogs', stuff them in our trouser pockets and forget about them until we'd hear a scream of sheer panic from our mum....the poor woman always checked pockets before putting a wash on. Kids a so so cruel!

I have a weird phobia, I don't actually class it as a phobia, but some do.

When I look over something at a height, I have an urge to jump, just to see what will happen. I'm not scared I'm going to die, in fact I really don't think I will, I think I'll land super hero style on the ground. This happens at shopping centres, anything above 2nd floor height, and I get an over whelming urge to jump.
