What have you EVER bought?

What have you EVER bought that has been worth it and you still use?

I've been to a few Car Boots over the years but swiftly came to the conclusion that it's just table after table of tatty bloody crap for which they ask unrealistic prices.

I bought an old copper preserving pan for 18 quid, scrap value of the metal. It was in a real state but I cleaned it up and now it looks sensational. Even better is that I use it all the time for making jams and chutneys.

If I'd wanted to buy a brand new preserving pan from Lakeland it would have been about 50 quid. The new one's are made of stainless steel with a copper base so don't conduct heat as well as mine

Buy toys for my grandchildren who I look after in the day. Kids get fed up with toys before they're used much and I've had some brilliant stuff, I'm not good at haggling over a price though lol.

I'm with you with car boot sales, not my thing either but I've used eBay twice: not to bid but to buy directly.

Derby/Notts(Long Eaton)

I go to a couple of huge boot sales with regularly over 500 boosters selling.

Sometime I go round and see nothing but tat, but over the years have bought some exceptional items at a fraction of the price.

From power tools and generators to items for my boat that were unused & would have cost £50+ Camping equipment and ex army supplies which I use at work all for a few pounds

Even revamped my kitchen from car boots and ebay

Brighton - even Hove!

Toys when the kids were younger, books, stupid stuff that ended up back at our own car boot a couple of years later. I go to them but don't do one myself. I can't bear the hagglers and the people who grub about in the boot of my car before I've even unloaded and set up.

I once bought a plate that had my Mum's name on. She had a very unusual first name and she was thrilled at the gift. She treasured it for the rest of her life

I was at a car boot sale when I came to a stall that appeared to be selling a second hand dildo for 50p

The lady swore blind that it was actually a back massager.

Something smelt fishy to me though.

I sell at car boots. Mainly clothes, shoes, books and DIY stuff. The money Ive made in the last month is paying for us to go on holiday in a few weeks. Not bad for a few hours work each weekend.
