Hi all, just a quick on for you all, I know sex is a fantastic pleasure and fun , but are we forgetting to protect ourselves, I protect myself when having sex who wouldn't , but have noticed that some people are clumsy and it could be costly,I am no means a critic but my observations,are as such
It defeats the object giving a guy a blow job with no condom on and then getting him to put one on after you bj him and have sex, seriously you have already had unprotected oral sex so could already be infected with an std but you think your safe because during sex you used a condom! And visa versa with the guys you can catch some std,s by giving oral sex with out protection so think before you play guy and girls play safe!

no think everyones aware of it and choose to take that risk. regular GUM clinic visits will pick up something.
touch wood ive never caught anything.. but if i did then id know the gents to inform. |

It's a calculated risk for me. My GUM nurse tells me that the risk of catching something orally is lower than that of penetrative sex. Although risk factors increase with mouth ulcers, bleeding gums etc.
I choose to cross a busy A road everyday without using the correct crossing 5 minutes up the road. This is a calculated risk, I assess before I cross the road, much the same as I assess the risk of unprotected oral. |

OP is correct but some experts say the risk of getting some STDs is lower with oral sex.
Makes some sense - saliva is naturally antiseptic, whereas the vagina needs to keep the little wrigglers alive.
Regular checks are essential. Condom essential for vaginal (and anal) also fine for oral sex if you like the taste of rubber, oral dams - that's never going to catch on. |

Its what regular visits to the clinic are for.....im not sure if you have given a bj with a condom on? I mean come on its not so sexy...and vice versa are all us women going to live without oral?
I think most are well aware of the risks but even from touching someone and then touching yourself there are risks....sex without any foreplay would be very boring sex indeed

I wouldn't take the risk and no offence you have to be plain silly to take a risk like that! It's ok saying all this , lower risk and what happens when some one contracts HIV are you all going to say lower risk then? Just my opinion, I would rather be safe than sorry and using common sence and protecting your self and others is just a no brainier! |

I know the risks and as an informed adult I am able to assess that risk. For me the pleasure far outweighs the tiny risk associated with oral and I'm going to keep on having unprotected oral for as long as I enjoy it |

However it is very hard to say how something is contracted as normally someone does both oral and penetrative sex too.

And to those not swallowing. I was told it's actually safer than facials as there is a risk of getting it in the eyes.. and that is the most direct route to the bloodstream. |
